You're overreacting. Dwight had a meal with a couple players on a different team. This isn't something that will alter a front office's plans.

The drama started when his future was uncertain. Once he signs a long term deal, the drama goes away (unless you count the usual Lakers losing drama)

Yeah, seems like our team is bonded and have really good chemistry. I hope Dwight buys in, winning will definitely help.

Same game Lebron and Bosh played?

Jim Buss might throw a hissy fit, Mitch seems more level headed. If they don't want him because he meets with players from another team, lakers fans are in for a really dry era during Jim's ownership.

If cyberx is right, when he said Fegan was trying to convince Dwight that he could change his residency meant that he was starting to lean away from the Lakers, of course one call to Dwight's accountant would have told him the obvious, California would be having none of that **** and still be taking his money.

Oddly in that scenario, Dwight stands to make less money in California, whilst Fegan stood to make more, who would have thought....

The story being out there in public is bound to alter perceptions.

You think they would just meet privately or just discuss things over the phone.

This kinda stuff is really playing games and I don't think its even benefitting Dwight.

What happened to the stuff about "let me take two weeks off before I even start to think about this. I deserve at least that."

I can't believe anyone is making this out to be as big of a deal as you are. Not a big deal.

    Yet.

Not only is it not a big deal, but you are all assuming it's true and has meaning. Take Cyberx at his word that he is an insider, and perhaps a story got to his company that Parsons and Harden were going to try and go eat with Dwight to talk about Houston and suddenly the game of telephone happens. Now the meeting is confirmed and Dwight is thinking about leaving.

We have no confirmation that they actually agreed to meet, had a meeting, etc.

You saw the invitation list? Or just the RSVPs? Are there gifts to be exchanged? What is the menu? Who is paying the check? Come on, full disclosure!

Because the TEAM would be better with DHoward replacing Asik and Lin....we have proven we can find decent PGs..

Actually, the TEAM would be better with all three, and we then could deal Lin and/or Asik somewhere else for more value. I think his point is that there's no reason to help the Lakers just because when it serves no value to Dwight and probably no value to us. The only way I'd consider dealing Lin/Asik to the Lakers is if they have absolutely zero other takers around the league, and I don't see that likely at all.

I hope so, because a team of Jin, Jarden, Carsons, Doward, and Osik would be pretty formidable.

The point is we don't have to give up Lin or Asik to get Howard. Now, Josh Smith is a different story.

Some of you are so gullible. Parsons is in Florida today. This insider information is bs. They are just speculative. Just information that can happen so if it does, he'll preach about how he broke it first, and if Dwight doesn't come, he'll just say " I never said he's definitely moving".

Unless the Rockets sign Smith as a FA. Then we'd have to trade for a SnT Howard

Exactly. He didn't say it happened. He said its in the works.

Why do idiots like jump to a conclusion when it was never stated?

Doesn't Howard live in Florida? It doesn't matter either way, I just thought he owned a house out there.

I don't believe they have johnny rockets in Florida. Dwight and Parsons are presumably in different states right now.
