Every other GM in the league would be praying we would void Hardens contract.Harden is worth every penny.

What the **** does "inconsistently averaging" mean? Do you even know what an average is?

Don't really get why some of you guys are so upset. Just watch them eat crow next year. I fully expect Lin and Harden to have a stellar year next year.

They are just following the path of GlenRice XD (he of kissing animal backside fame)

Let's say a player averages 14 points a game. A consistent average would be scoring anywhere from say 10-18 every game to keep that 14 a game average.

Inconsistent average would be 4 one game then 24 the next, then 6, then 22 so on and so on.

That's decided not what I said. You were talking about reality right? What I was saying, was that White's contract in reality is worth voiding while Lin's is not.

Sure, as long as you don't break the law one has the right to do anything. But sometimes it's best not to do anything that's idiotic and offensive.

:( but true... but it has been slow here in the GARM without the game threads, we need some ole time drama from the LOF and the LOH to bring back the normalcy. Let'z start some threads about Lin's TO, no left hand, linconsistency, linjury and contracts...

Deep down the LOH don't want Lins contract to be voided. If Lin were gone who would they antagonize? Royce White fans? Asik and destroy fans? Chandler banged my girlfriend and mom fans? No they need the LOFs to troll and comfort their insecurities about their lack of basketball knowledge, they need Lin to be on the Rockets. No Lin, no fun.

I'm gonna disagree. Expiring contracts are always tradeable. I think Bill Simmons even joked about making a Theo Ratliff basketball card that was just a picture of his expiring contract. I don't know all the rules or how the numbers all work, but a 15 million dollar expiring contact would be very sexy for some capped-out teams.

Joe Johnson got traded for God's sake! In the NBA anyone can be moved.

Point guards come a dime a dozen and if you don't have one of the top PGs there is no sense in overspending for one (especially when playing along side Harden). And when there can be questions on rather or not a PG found playing in Russia should start over the $8.3 million PG just proves my point.

Yes Jeremy had a good last 2 months of the season but what's the excuse for game one of the playoffs...? What about the first half of game 2 before his injury...?

Royce White is a middle round drafted rookie and rookies aren't always expected to pan out for whatever reason. Jeremy Lin was a $25 million free agent signing. He's had his moments and has helped the team win games, but they could have had any middle of the pack point guard and had the same if not better success.

Because of Lin's on the court play and the point guard position is the easiest to replace, his contract is the most voidable.

Guess you didn't read the site before this year. They go after coaches, fan favorites, and anybody who has a perceived weakness in their game.

IMO the Rockets don't have any true "albatross" contracts anymore, such as a Kelvin Cato, a Juwon Howard, or an injured and disgruntled McGrady.

In fact, if the closest thing to a bad contract on a team is Jeremy Lin's or Royce White's, I'd say Morey is doing a freaking great job.

No one expects a GM to come out and says a player suxks or speak negatively of a player. Numbers show that Lin has been the 4th most important player on the team when it comes to player contributions when the Rockets win games and he's 19th amongst point guards in contributions to team wins in the NBA.

Morey knows the statistics. You can believe that lip service if you want.

No one expects a GM to come out and speak negatively about a player. But a GM doesn't have to pull out statistics to convey his message. He could have said what most GM who are indifferent about their players say like "He's improving. He helps the team. He works hard." etc. Arbitrary comments with no context. But he downright said he was 3rd in contribution to wins and 5th best in PnRs. That's a pretty big statement to state in the media. So please stop downplaying the comment just because it was about Lin. If this was about Harden we'd all be rejoicing like the Messiah have came to save us.

Rather 3rd or 4th how much does that actually mean...? If anything that shows even more so why if a contract was to be voided it would be his. But if your going off potential and hope for what he can maybe do in the future, ok...

One bad game and you void a young player's contract? Especially when the whole team wasn't good? First half of game 2 was fine.

Elite quickness and court vision is not easily replaced.

I think Lin brings solid play and good leadership to the team. By good leadership I don't just mean giving fancy speeches though he does seem to do that pretty well also. What I mean by good leadership is his great court vision and ability to create plays for us using that great court vision.

I said this in another thread and I'll say it here. Lin played pretty well for the most part when it came to the last few months.

Lin's young and playing on a brand new team. It's not shocking that he didn't get off to a great start and had a few bad games here and there even at the end of the season.

Point is I don't think I can really give my final verdict on Lin until I see what he does in the next year or two. I do think he will be pretty solid for us though.
