trade for Howard so we can maintain our cap space to upgrade our power forward in free agency: Millsap/JSmoove/West/Landry.... and i stated that if we got Howard via S&T we can sign Millsap to $11~$12M per. LA will want Lin for marketing; Asik will get good assets for them in a 3way, DMo fits D'Antoni's system perfectly. they will love the package for Gasol.
Dont KG has a no trade clause in his contract. And plus he would retire if the Celtics try to trade him IMO...
Not sure why you are so hyped on TRob. Saying he's a beast in practice means nothing. I heard DHoward shoots 80% FT in practice. TJones has shown as much, actuallymore than TRob. TJones was putting up MVP numbers in the D-League. Size-wise, he seems bigger than TRob. Shown the same amount of explosiveness. NBA is different league. What differentiates TRob in college, is only ordinary in the NBA. I don't have any allegiance to either player. Just going by what I've seen. If TRob hadn't shown more during the regular season, I might reconsider. But as of now, I would take DMo over TRob.
Yeah KG seems to put a lot of emphasis on loyalty. He gave Ray Allen the cold shoulder after he moved to Miami. If he does agree to a move, he probably want a ready title contender like OKC.
Lin/Beverly Harden/Anderson Parsons/Jones J. Smith/DMo Howard/G. Smith That is a Championship calibre Team. Basically a big 5 - Harden is a first option, Howard as the second, Josh Smith as the third, Parsons as 4th and Lin as fifth option. We greatly upgrade our defense with Smith and Howard and turn in weakness into a strength and we can score from each position without a real weakness. Might have to upgrade our bench, but Morey can work some magic. To make this happen, we probably need to convince Smith to take a little paycut. But we have a good argument with playing with his friend for a championship calibre team. Miami and OkC will still be favorites, because they have the two biggest stars - but we will be right behind them on the list of favorites...
Sorry, I'm still unsure of what you mean by S&T for Howard? How can we do that? There's no extra year for S&T under the CBA. Why would we give players to LA for Howard when we can just sign Howard?
This is the scenario I would prefer and think is the most likely to happen. My only question is why do you think Asik would be a good asset for a 3way? The addition of Asik and Lin to that team makes them better than they were last year provided Kobe is able to return. Asik is a keeper. Dwight Howard is probably the only center I would consider trading him for.
Jeremy Lin James Harden Chandler Parsons Josh Smith Omer Asik I see Smith as the teams major move this offseason. He is still young enough so that we can run this starting line for the next 5 years and build around them to get towards a championship team. Because of his play in the playoffs I see the Rockets choosing Garcia over Delfino to be the primary wing backup. Beverly also earned a spot on this team and should be back to backup Lin. Now the frontcourt will see changes. Outside of the Smith signing we have too many young bigs (White, Jones, Motiejunas and Robinson). With J.Smith and Asik starting and G.Smith off the bench we really only have room for one more big to get meaningfull playing time. I'm sure we would have another big on the bench for depth purposes as well. This leaves two guy out. We could possibly send one or both to the D League but we can also look into moving them and stockpiling picks for the future.
I agree with you on this line-up. What's with the Probably Lin unless we can get someone else? I think the FO are pretty happy with him and he's a solid lock to be PG unless there is a trade to upgrade the team. Asik is more like to be traded before Lin at the moment.
lin / bev / brooks harden / deshawn / brooks parsons / n young HORFORD / dmo / smith / royce asik / mozgov / smith
Lin / Beverly Harden / Garcia Parsons / Anderson Montejunas / Jones Howard / Asik With Asik playing 6th man minutes; him and Howard will share the court sometimes, but they'll figure out how to make it work.
Let's say CP3 and Dwight don't workout... I say we go for a Josh Smith and Tony Allen combo. C: Asik PF: J Smith SF: Allen SG: Harden PG: Lin 6th man: Parsons
ok, let's say we sign DH12 straight up, for 18~20Mil. we will have to cut EVERYONE with non-guaranteed contracts, and left with no $ to upgrade the power forward spot, and you keep a $8.5Mil. back-up center in Asik. trade Asik+Lin for DH12, you got to keep some non-guaranteed players i.e. Delfino, Smith, Brooks, ... and you still have $12~$14Mil. to upgrade the power forward spot. you don't need Asik anyway if you got Howard, why not keep the cap space to upgrade other position? they will keep Asik to replace Howard in a DH12 S&T. but if they're trading us Gasol then they might want to re-route Asik for a PF with range to pair with Howard.
