Just from that trailer it looks like it’ll be technically impressive and pretty intense, looking forward to it.

look good but i can't picture either as astronauts. Should have gone with more believable actors than just names to sell tickets

Man, you guys are reacting super positively to what came off as very little to me.

I feel like this movie could be about Sandra Bullock drifting through space, thinking about dinosaurs to ultrasound/whale cry sound effects and you'd all love it. Just like everybody loved Tree of Life for no reason whatsoever.

I'm excited about this too, looks like it could be good I guess, but you bozos seem to be in some kind of nerd frenzy over it.

Looks intense. Minor pet peeve that it features the now-retired space shuttle.

Just now watched the trailer. I don't much care for Sandra Bullock in anything, but I can live with it. I definitely don't like George Clooney in anything. I cannot abide.

I liked Clooney in Solaris and Bullock in Demolition Man.

They can probably handle this one.

    Mark me down as anxious.

I thought Solaris was horrible... though not Clooney's fault.
But I love space movies generally.
Sunshine was slow paced, but so high quality, with great graphics.
If this is like that, I'll love it.

Yeah I noticed that too. I think it is a matter of artistic license as the Soyuz module doesn't look as impressive.

Link, because this quote looks like it's copied all wrong.

Near as I can tell, this came from here: http://www.giantfreakinrobot.com/sc...ives-positive-reactions-early-screenings.html

The line about Tree of Life is that it could be as polarizing as that movie (I thought most people hated Tree of Life, I know I did)

From that same blog post, here are quotes from a poster on AICN who saw an early screening:

The only other comparison to Tree of Life I can think of is that this movie has the same cinematographer.

Since the cinematography was the only non-horrible part of that movie, I'm down.

I'm pretty interested in this movie. I can't see how it possibly has a happy ending, (given that it seems to be hyper-realistic), but that's okay too.

That may be true, but having read the book and seen the early Russian version, which I enjoyed both, Clooney's Solaris was more than just good. Plus, I'm just a huge fan of early 20th century Russian writers so I'm terribly bias on that score.

I also thought the Solaris remake was horrible also and I think Clooney is part of the terrible movie because of his acting chop. I was also hoping this movie is more like Sunshine which I thought was very underrated. I was hoping it was some cool long voyage mission like Sunshine to somewhere but that hope was gone when the trailer came out. That would have been a much more interesting movie and there's so much they can go with that concept.
