He averaged over 6 assists this season. Factor in one more assist with increased minutes/a whole summer to practice with the team and add in one assist for Dwight being his big man. I think 8 isn't a stretch.

    +1 for Dwight.
    I think at least +2.
Dwight can catch and boy can he finish.
The alley oop is going to be back if Dwight comes, I'm looking forward to see that!

Beverly will pressure ball carriers all the way up the court when playing bench minutes, but its tiring for both players so he doesn't do it with starters minutes.

Throwing Bev's full court pressure out for 15-18 minutes is a great way to screw the opponent point guard over the middle quarters.

If Beverley goes against Lin during scrimmages, both are going to get better, especially Lin.

I'd like to keep Beverley for the next two years as a great on ball defender / spark off the bench and training partner for Lin.

It forms a great PG tandem, I feel its really solid and great insurance if Lin get hurt.

Nash averaged 6.7 assists, and he ran PnR with Dwight a lot more than Lin will if D-Ho comes to Houston.

Considering how often Lin is being used as a spot-up shooter and that he's running PnR less than any other point guard not named Mario Chalmers, 6 assists is already great, 8 would be HOF like.

Lin is incredibly lucky to have Curry, Shumps and Beverley as training partners.

And if Beverley played with half of Lin's court vision, ability to penetrate and create shots, run an offense and make high quality assists, he'd be a top PG too!

    And your point is?

Court vision? Create shots? Are you describing Chris Paul or Jeremy Lin? The Jeremy Lin we watched this season was a inconsistent shooter, indecisive playmaker & turnover machine in stretches

None of which you mentioned pn:rolleyes:

    No.

Dwight notoriously dislikes being the roll man in the PnR. He prefers posting up even though he has no post moves whatsoever.

2.9 turnovers a game makes him a turnover machine? Rondo, Irving, Wall and Harden all averaged more turnovers. 2.9 TO's is what Nash averages for his career and the 8 seasons before this one he averaged more than that.

Inconsistent shooter? Over 44% FG (45.5% post all star) is pretty consistent to me. If you mean he had some bad shooting games from time to time, sure he did but so did every Rocket, especially Harden.

Indecisive playmaker yet he averaged over 6 assists a game, tops on the team. He also led the team with the most double digit assist games on the team.

Where do you guys come up with this stuff?

I wonder if what Beverly brings to the table is more than what Douglas brought. Bev makes game changing defensive plays, but TD was able to bring in instant offense, and he was not a terrible defender himself; I’m sure we all remember how he, like PB, replaced Lin in the 4th and overtime on some occasions.

If Lin is a turnover machine (2.9 TO/game), then Harden is a turnover god (3.8 TO).

Well, homerism is much better than haters overlooking the positives of a player on their team.
