    With cell phones, area codes aren't that significant anymore. I'm 281 but haven't lived in that area for 8 years.

    ::EDIT::

    NVM. I've been in 281 areas for the past couple years. Respect yo.

    I just recently learned Austin got a 2nd area code (737) and goes to 10-digit dialing as of June 1.

    If you don't rep the 713 you're legitimately a scrub, a douche, and an overall bad person.

    In the future there will be no such thing as "area code". Everyone will get a unique phone number at birth just like SSN. You hear it here first:grin:

    Don't laugh though. I remember my professor predicting everyone will have two watches in the future: a time watch and a location watch. Well, now we have not two, not three, not four, but many, many watches (weather , stock, news etc etc) all in one damn phone.

    Was wondering why it took so long to get a 4th area code. I know the unfortunate truth of having more than a few poor people living in the city but the one "luxury" that everyone seems to afford is a cell phone.
