I prefer to see him run for President because it might be the final blow to the Republican Party that tosses it into the dustbin of history. I'm resigned to having a cray cray in the Senate from Texas whether its Cruz, Cornyn, or any other tea party disciple who wants to close down a bunch of federal departments, destroy the IRS, destroy the EPA, lower taxes on rich folks, privatize social security, drill on protected lands, promote school vouchers, tell people who they can marry, expand the military, destroy the environment in the name of jobs, and sell out the middle class. Hopefully the demographics of Texas catch up politically and we can be proud of being Texans again and not caricatured as uneducated redneck secessionist gun loving religious nuts.

Here's Cruz' lying in regards to Hagel. It isn't the first time the dishonest Cruz has lied publicly of course.

Here's some nice videos about Cruz.

Here's another one. This exposes another bold faced lie by Cruz.

    1. Education: Ted Cruz is educated
    2. Redneck: Second generation Cuban raised by hardworking parents
    3. Secessionist: When has he ever said anything about this?:rolleyes:
    4. Gun Loving: Constitution loving
    5. Religious: believes in Religious liberty
    6. Nut: I think you might need to reassess the situation

You sound like the nut with diatribes like this one.

Our country is built on being different and still living together. You sound like you are ready to get rid of all opposition. Doesn't sound anything like a Representative Republic that I love. If anything, Ted Cruz typifies the new Texan: smart, educated, diverse, hard working, country defending, constitution upholding, and religiously tolerant.

Lord help you, you may need to find a new state, because I don't think this one suits you. I hear North Korea is taking applications for demagogues. Sell crazy somewhere else.

Not able to see them on my ipad. You want to post any videos of lies that President Obama, or Hillary Clinton has said? There are plenty available.

I will try to find the videos you posted.

I said that's how Texans are caricatured. You have trouble with the basics... reading, logic, etc. I listed all of Cruz's positions and I'm glad you agree they're nutty.

Ted Cruz typifies the new Texan. Lol. Wealthy Cuban lawyer from Harvard.

Lol bible prophecy guy talking about crazy. You're pretty untintentionally funny.

I understood that you are talking about a certain population here in our great state. I think having lawmakers like Cruz helps destroy those images. He had hard working parents who desired for their son to get a great education that would help him make good money and spend his life giving back to this wonderful country which has given so much to him and his parents. With the new diversity of Houston, I am seeing more and more stories like this. Stories of hard work, and success.

I'm sure you will disagree and I will disagree with you and then you will sharply disagree with me at which point I will strongly disagree with you and about that time Sam Fisher will poke his ugly head in here and make some heinous comment which will leave me no choice but to troll him some more and unfortunately that will probably bring mc mark in here to say something and no one else will comment in this thread for about two more years when basso will bump this thread with a quip directed at mc mark.

You're not a fetus -- that is a liberal term to enable the murder of young children -- you are human, you are awesome.

I haven't posted videos of those. I have mentioned my displeasure when they have been less than truthful. I've mentioned my displeasure at some Obama's policies.

anyway to sum up, The videos are one of Cruz lying about Iran praising Hagel's nomination followed by what it was that the representative of Iran actually said.

The other one was bout Cruz claiming that there were twelve college professors of his who were Marxists and admitted they wanted a communist overthrow of the United States govt.

Inhofe jumped in to defend Cruz by saying that Iran’s “endorsement” of Hagel’s nomination meant that Hagel was somehow “cozy” with Iran.

It was Inhofe’s assertion that Hagel is somehow responsible for what Iranian officials say about his nomination.

About the Harvard comments it actually goes back further to about 2009 Q&A

Q: Then on to Harvard Law School: What was that like? Understanding Harvard Law School is very important to understanding our president, Barack Obama. He is very much a creature of Harvard Law. To understand what that means you have to understand that there were more self-declared communists on the Harvard faculty than there were Republicans. Every single idea this president has proposed in the nine months he’s been in office has been orthodox wisdom in the Harvard faculty lounge.

Q: Why are they so far to the left? The communists on the Harvard faculty are generally not malevolent; they generally were raised in privilege, have never worked very hard in their lives, don’t understand where jobs and opportunity come from. If you asked the Harvard faculty to vote on whether this nation should become a socialist nation, 80 percent of the faculty would vote yes and 10 percent would think that was too conservative.

His quip about Commies overtaking the gov't is just that, a quip. A political one liner doesn't make anyone a McCarthy. You don't see him trying to have the professors questioned or detained, you see him using the circumstances he witnessed to explain why Obama is the way he is.

Ted Cruz Leads the Twitter Pack in Texas
    By David Hawkings
    Posted at 11:44 a.m. on May 8

Ted Cruz remains combustibly in the news again this week — a high-profile speech to Republican faithful in early-primary South Carolina followed up with another tart public spat in the Senate, with Majority Harry Reid likening him to a schoolyard bully.

Four months into his time as the junior Republican senator from Texas, Cruz appears to operating on the principle that no amount of publicity is too much — especially for someone who’s suddenly tilting toward a run for president. His affect will get plenty more media attention starting Thursday, when the Judiciary Committee on which he sits opens debate on the immigration overhaul, probably lasting until Memorial Day. Cruz is going to work to slow or derail the bill at every turn.

All the while, the 42-year-old has been working diligently to cultivate his conservative base on social media, with what looks to be decent success. If he runs for the GOP nomination in 2016, he’ll potentially be doing so with the help of more Twitter followers than anyone else in the field.

Some enlightening detail about this has been assembled in recent days by the Houston Chronicle, the senator’s hometown paper. Its Texas on the Potomac blog made Cruz a test case of an effort to gauge the social media usage of all 38 members of the state’s congressional delegation.

Cruz is averaging 353 new followers every day and he sends out an average of 3.5 tweets daily — Wednesdays being his most prolific days. The favored conservative hashtags #defundobamacare or #2ndamendment are in more than half the posts @SenTedCruz has sent so far. He’s only tweeted 405 times from his Senate account, but those missives have collectively been retweeted almost 105,000 times. (The most recent, about the Benghazi embassy contretemps, went out at breakfast time and had been retweeted almost 4,000 times before noon.)

And get this: 86 percent of Twitter sentiment about the senator has been positive, by the Chronicle’s calculation.

Clearly we're unworthy of your intellectual prowess and firm grasp of politics. It seems you're intent on turning this thread into a Cruz orgasm of some sort and not really discussing his positions so good luck with that.

Cruz lied about what the Iranians even said about Hagel. He lied. There's a video of it that I posted along with the actual statement.

Cruz lied about the Marist professors wanting to take over the United States. He's been asked about it since then, and he hasn't backed down. Of course he hasn't been able to name a single one of those professors because he's lying.

There are a several reasons why he isn't trying to have those professors detained or questioned. The first reason is because hardly anyone in the nation really cares if they were communist. The second reason is because he was lying.

You can make up excuses about why he's lying and call them just a political one liner quip, and try and blame Inhofe, but the bottom line is that Cruz lied.

Sens. Lee, Graham, Cruz Request Confirmation on Religious Liberties Policy From Hagel

    Contact: (202) 224-5922 / press@cruz.senate.gov
    Wednesday, May 8, 2013

WASHINGTON, DC — Today, U.S. Senators Mike Lee (R-UT), Lindsey Graham (R-SC), and Ted Cruz (R-TX) released a letter they sent to Secretary of Defense Chuck Hagel requesting confirmation of the rights of members of the armed services to practice and share their faith. The letter is a response to recent media reports indicating potential changes to military regulations governing the discussion of religion by members of the military.

"Policies that prohibit the discussion of religious matters by military members, " they write, "could create a chilling effect on members of the armed services of any faith and have an adverse effect on recruitment and retention efforts and the morale of our troops."

Hagel nomination cheers Iran, worries Israel

I fully expect you to be as upset with CBS as you are with Cruz.

It doesn't look like what he said was too inaccurate, wouldn't you say?
