all young and have potentials. but, we don't know the Kobe factor on the Lakers organization. With him injured, I don't know if he still carries a big stick on the Lakers future, to that extent, Gasol.
I remember in his exit interview he talked as if he were gone... I'm paraphrasing but something like, "I know there's definitely going to some big changes around here and if I'm not around then I wanna thank everyone, I had a great time here..."
Shame on me for thinking this thread had new information before clicking on it. That said, rep to guy who posted the Sulu pick.
Pau's future is directly correlated with Dwight's, and honestly, I believe that the Rockets are going to end up with one of them. Dwight is obviously the first choice, but if he decides to stay in LA, then I think the conversation with quickly shift over to Pau. The Lakers really can't expect to get much for a 32 year old PF on an expiring $19m deal, so I would expect negotiations to begin with Thomas Robinson and Greg Smith, and possibly end with Terrence Jones or D-Mo. Anything outside of that, and they'd be trying to rob us blind.
Nobody. If the Lakers get rid of him, it will be by the amnesty provision. If they keep Howard, they'll have to use it on either Kobe or Pau. Trading for him would be pointless with that in mind.
Thumbs down. Morey has a weird obsession with foreign big men for some reason. Pau can hit midrange shots but he's soft in the paint. His efforts been always questioned and his inability to defend & rebound will hurt this team. Our offense is too fast paced for a center his age who whines when he doesn't get touches. Soft, old, slow & whiney. No thanks
The whole reason they're getting rid of Pau is because they are waaaay over the cap and can't afford him. They want trade exceptions or min. contract players. I'm sure they want Parsons but they aint gonna get him. You could be right, one or two of our young PFs would do.
Too funny. Too funny. You don't need the rep, but rep you I shall. And renting Pau for a year? Not a bad idea, if we don't give up too much, and if we whiff on the big free agents, although it doesn't quite get us to Kevin Love's free agency.
Gasol would be a good addition if we face the unfortunate circumstances of not acquiring howard or CP3. I still think we have a decent shot at Howard.
I never thought of that. Great thinking. You worked it out. If Dwight stays and Pau is amnestied it means we'll be in a bidding war. He will be on a new contract and it won't be one year right? So he doesn't suit our purpose so we should just forget about him.
