If Evans is inefficient shooting 48% for the last season, than I am not sure what you would consider efficient.
Evans regressed but who knows how he will be if he lives Sacramento. One thing is for sure none of those youngsters will develop into anything special as long as Keith Smart is the coach.
His career eFG% is .468. This season is the only time he ever went over .500., mostly because this is the only time he ever shot better than .300 at 3. That's very inefficient for someone who shoots so much. Ironically, while his shooting % is up, his assists number dropped significantly.
Mediocre teams stay mediocre because they overpay guys like Tyreke Evans, a player probably best suited for 6th man duties.
Wait wait wait. The Bucks trading for Lin to add to their two ball hog point guards. Because in the back of their mind they are thinking, hey there's not enough ball to go around between Jennings and Ellis. How about we bring Lin in and play with two balls instead. And Houston going wait, so we got one ball hogs scorer in Harden who doesn't like to pass. Wait. Wait instead of bringing more spacing. Lets. Okay hear me out. Lets bring in the EXACT SAME PLAYER in Evans and see how many more isolation plays we can run and how little assists we can get every year.
I could see him being a major target for the Mavericks. With the veteran core they have there and a very good hard-a#$ coach, I could see them getting a very solid year out of Tyreke.
Players that are gone for the Mavs (potentially) RESTRICTED Rodrigue Beaubois Darren Collison UNRESTRICTED Elton Brand Mike James Chris Kaman Shawn Marion (ETO) O.J. Mayo (P) Anthony Morrow Brandan Wright So you bring in a guy like Reke, then what?
Mayo disappoints no matter where he goes. Disappointed in USC. Disappointed in Memphis and disappointed in Dallas (ask their fans).
I would of liked this guy back when we had no star or potential star. However, with the team we have now he would be horrible in our system. I think if the right team, with the right coach, gets him then he will start to show major improvements and live up to his potential.
Marion most likely wont exercise his ETO, and will take the payday on his final year. So you have Dirk, Marion, Vince Carter, and some young role player types essentially. The Mavs are in a tough spot, and have banked way too much on landing a max free agent instead of stocking up on good young talent. There's no telling what Cuban is thinking about doing, but I do know that he's going to bring in someone even if he has to overpay, and could potentially hurt the team long term. He could gamble, and have a player like Tyreke improve dramatically. Is it Tyreke?.. Is it Jennings?... I dont know, but I guarantee you Dallas is going to take a huge gamble on at least one player alike if not multiple ones. However, even if they do get one of these guys to produce with them, I dont think its going to be enough to get them back to a deep playoff team for some time unless they somehow get CP3 or Dwight.... which is very, very unlikely. And 2014 is going to be too late for this team built around Dirk.
Probably Jennings, they're losing their pgs and probably would want a flashy player like Jennings. Although Reke could easily fill that void to and probably cost them less money. Maybe they offer Pekovic a contract as well. Dallas if they play their cards right could have a decent squad. Jennings or Reke Carter/Mayo Marion Dirk Pekovic
he'll be a great jamal crawford type with a more all-rounded game as for tyreke, he just needs a better situation. the rockets could choose to give him a short deal to test it out. but we dont really have the position need
