Everyone starts somewhere and Grant Hill is one of the more intelligent guys in the league.

He graduated with a 3.8 from Duke. So at least academically you could put him over morey or presti. Morey went to northwestern and Presti went to Emerson.

Ouch. I bet Grant Hill is so respected as a player, and can extol the virtues of "desert life" that he may be able to persuade a high caliber player to sign there.

Northwestern is no joke first of all, but Morey also did his graduate work at MIT.

Not sure if serious...but Morey got his MBA from MIT. That is a tad more valuable than a bachelors from Duke.

Yeah but what classes was he taking? I mean 3.8 is impressive don't get me wrong I just feel like he would take an easier load of classes since he was an athlete

Pretty sure Grant Hill could get into HBS or any other business school he wanted to. Business schools don't just look at GPA and GMAT they look at a lot of other stuff too. Otherwise it would be filled with a bunch of Indian dudes. Anyways my point is Grant Hill is a smart dude so I think he could be successful at whatever he did.

I agree that Hill could succeed. He's been in the game, know's what to look for as far as talent, attitude, work ethic, etc. He has an upper hand on the GMs who weren't athletes. Let's see how this unfolds

Wouldn't it be better to make him an assistant GM as opposed to throwing him in there? Or putting him in another personnel role so he learns the job?

Grant hill is almost the same age as morey. He has been around the NBA for almost 20 years. He has been around pro sports his whole life. I am pretty sure he knows a thing or two about basketball and what it takes to be successful. This isn't some 30 year old hot shot wiz kid.

I'm well versed about Grant Hill and his back story and playing career. That still doesn't mean he's ready to step into a GM role as soon as he puts up his sneakers. We know little about his mindset pertaining to putting together a good team or Basketball analytics.

The only people who know if he is qualified I would believe are the team owner(s) that would interview or hire him and the media or front office personnel that have dealt with him.

The Suns are just a pit of awfulness in terms of management. It's like when they hired Steve Kerr to be their GM.
