Am I the only one who thinks its kind of messed up that ESPN is saying that the Heat were rusty and thats the reason they lost?

Kind of takes away all credit from the all-out effort the Bulls gave.

Of course ESPN would say that.

Yeah we've seen this before. Didn't the bulls beat them in the first game of the playoffs 2 years ago and then Miami went 4 in a row? Didn't OKC beat them in game 1 last years finals and Miami reeled off 4 in a row? If the Bulls win game 2 then I'll say OH ****, but still wouldn't be that worried.

I'm not trying to say the Bulls are all of a sudden going to win the series.

I just find it a bit disrespectful for them to discredit the Bulls win like that.

If the Spurs had lost tonight, would they say "Rusty Spurs lose to Warriors"?

No because GS beating San Antonio isn't as big of a shock if it would have happened

Bulls were the better team in the face of all this talent disparity.

Its inspirational to see the bulls win this game playing the right way on defense.

I think they can take it in 6.

Do any of you see any chance of Rose returning in this series?

It finally makes sense to me now. I was wondering why Rose was leaving his fans/teammates with false optimism about his return. Because if he admits that he is taking the rest of the year off, then if the Bulls somehow got to the ECF, and then Rose came back, people would look down upon him and call him coward and a bunch of other insults.

But, with Rose not saying anything and leaving the possibility wide open...I think he's just saying that in case of the slight chance his team upsets the Heat. THEN he would definitely come back in time for the start of the ECF, I guarantee it.

I'm sure he realizes the Heat is the only team in the way of his Bulls team winning it all. Rose playing even 20 mins a game would be sufficient in winning the title, as long as Deng and everyone else is semi-healthy.

Goes to show you that how much good coaching can help a team.

I'm surprised more people aren't talking about this.

Apparently the Bulls(shocked Thibs would let this happen) went partying at LIV last night(unfortunately the notorious d*ck rider that is Lil Wayne was there as well to party with them) after winning 1 GAME!

I know teams playing the Heat over the years have been known to go party in between or before games but seriously? I know this Bulls team-players and coaches- have been through a lot but partying after game 1? Wait till you close them out not after game 1.

I hope they win game two and slap people like me for criticizing them and that they prove me wrong but I think this was not the best course of action for them. (Then again, maybe they went partying the night before Gm 1.)

That's probably because they know they aren't going to win the series and they are just having fun and enjoying the ride.

They missed open shot after open shot after open shot after open shot.

It was a fair call really.

You mean they didn't practice shooting while waiting for the series?

No, it means their open shots missed, happens sometimes, same as you can have days where nothing seems to miss, they were the better team for 80% of the game, then Nate caught fire.

I think the Heat were rusty, I mean the Bulls barely scrapped by an average Nets team. I still think there is zero chance Chicago wins the series but I hope they can at least make it interested.
