I don't think there is anything funny about his injury or any psychological effects
    he might be having
. I just don't think that the Bull's medical doctors would clear
the former MVP to play if his knee was NOT okay to play on. I think that it's 99%
mental, he's scared, that's okay every human being is scared of something.

He's scared of re-injuring his knee, if he comes back to early, but like anything in
life there are no guarantees. He could re-injure his leg the first game back this year
or the first game of next season.

As the star of the Bulls I think he should at least try to get into playoffs but he's not
    even trying.
There are other players out there playing thru pain and injuries but they
are not the KING they are merely PAWNS so obviously they are expendable.

Don't think anybody posting is acting tough but instead are comparing Rose to other professional athletes that have torn ACLs and came back.

Who says Chicago isn't turning against him?

I live in Chicago and a majority of Bulls fans think he should be playing, especially after seeing half the team sick in game 6-7 against the Nets. Seeing Rose in a suit and eating candy at the end of the bench rubbed many the wrong way.

Rose is from Chicago, constantly states his love for the city and does his best Joe DiMaggio impression so he is loved... Well was.

This so much. Its obvious nobody here has had a serious injury at all. You just sit behind a computer and cry 'DOCTORS CLEARER DAFAQ'.

    pathetic.

Winning fixes everything. As soon as he comes back and dominates, everything will be forgotten. Fans are foolish and fickle.

Funny... none of my friends who are Bulls fans feel this way except one who wishes Rose would play but even he has changed his vibe on it after thinking about it more logically lol @ "the majority". That's a load of bull****. Even the media around here hasn't turned on him yet, much less the fans. Personally, I don't see that changing.

    It's inaccurate.

OP, Rose is doing the right thing. If he's not ready, don't come back. You know how much money is on the line if he hurts himself severely again?

Say you are on a $100m/5 year contract. You want to come back when you're not mentally ready to jepordise your future security and potential opportunities(endorsements etc)?

Are the other Bulls player's injury as serious as a torn ACL?

Rose is probably thinking back to last year when he reinjured himself on a fluke play in the playoffs. He doesn't want to risk another setback unless he's 100% comfortable. I get it.

I guess you don't listen to sports radio in Chicago then, because a majority of the callers and hosts have said he should be playing or at a minimum should say he is shutting it down instead of saying he may come back.

Speaking of bull****, I will go with living in Chicago, listening to sports radio here over your few "friends" that are Bulls fans... but whatever makes you feel warm inside.

You guys are arguing the wrong thing. Look at the thread title again. It's not about whether Rose should play. It's whether he's the softest superstar in league history. So unless you can name a softer superstar in league history, Rose is the softest.

BTW, I don't care whether he plays or not. I'm having too much fun watching little Nathan. And Curry.

No, but the fact that Steve Kerr didn't rely on athleticism is very relevant to why his opinion doesn't mean much about Derrick Rose's injury.

Steve Kerr could come back right away from an injury, because all he has to do is jog up the court and launch a three. Very little chance of re-aggravating the injury or injuring something else. I mean did Kerr ever really even need to jump, other than shooting?

There are more articles out there discussing the fans in Chicago being upset Rose isn't playing... Sorry I only live in Chicago and attend the games and listen to sports radio.. Next time I will just ask some random friends in another city.

You do realize Adidas have a deal with Rose in the next decade, right? He's the smartest superstar in history.

Yes because callers on a sports radio represent the majority of a fan base. Good call there...

lol... I live in Chicago too. That honestly means nothing anyway though. I never said a few friends represented what the majority thinks, I just know you can't say that the majority of that fan base thinks that way, especially not on the basis of radio callers. lol.

Wanting him to play and turning on him are two different things. Lets see how many signs there are in game 3... that should tell you how many fans have turned on him and how many havent. Using radio callers as a basis to represent what the majority fan base thinks is pretty stupid. Can't tell you how many fans I've heard share opinions of the Rockets on sports radio which has been far from what a lot of people think.

Rose is soft. I'm sick of everyone saying he's doing the right thing by looking out for his future. Please understand that he's already signed a max contract and has a huge money endorsement deal with Adidas. His future is already set. He's medically cleared to play. His knee is as healthy as it ever will be.
Rose shows a lack of desire and maturity. Him not playing when medically cleared to play is a slap in the face to the entire organization, especially his teammates. The definition of soft is a guy with over 100 million in the bank being scared to risk playing.
