And if we did some of us would come back sooner and tough it out quicker than others. Some people are more mentally tough than others. If Derrick Rose wants to take the non tough guy route back then it is fair to call him soft in regards to that. However, sometimes being the "soft" player is smart so you don't end up like RG3.

what does the bulls or rose have to gain from this?

a rusty Rose with poor conditioning will not help them against the Heat

by coming back rusty and will most likely play poorly on the court will not help Rose's image.

    Who is this "us?"

When was the last time you have come back from an ACL injury to play in NBA playoffs?

Also, how has no one mentioned Tracy McGrady?

Actually I think that's exactly what he's doing.

But otherwise I have no reason to doubt his toughness. He's one of the toughest players in the league when he plays.

AP was playing football in the best football league in the world. He toughed it out and came back early. I'm sure he could have sat out much longer and played it safe but he didn't.

In today's era, being medically cleared and not coming back from an ACL injury is strange.

The strangest part is that he's been a tease. If he was always out of it and he had complications with the surgery or wasn't healing as fast or couldn't jump properly THATS ABSOLUTELY FINE.

    Please sit out.

But when the excuse is he doesn't feel comfortable mentally... it's just weird.

why does everyone want him back so badly right now? He may be healthy but he and the Bulls have nothing to gain by him having a part-time role in the postseason. What's he gonna do? Go for double-doubles right off the bat against LeBron? Yeah right. He hasn't played with the team the entire year and re-entering a lineup is a process, not something you do at the most intense and high-stakes time of the year.

The team doesn't mind, the coach doesn't mind, and the only people who seem to have a problem with it are internet tough guys who couldn't last a second in a D3 layup line.

That is false. Steve Kerr who played in the league thinks what he is doing is kinda weak. I'm guessing other current and former NBA players think the same.

I don't get the hate. He tore his ACL, he didn't sprain an ankle. This isn't an injury you mess with. If he doesn't feel ready then so be it.

I think it's funny how tough some of these posters act when they've never experienced the snap of your knee ligaments tearing and the psychological effect it has on you.

Maybe he's not playing because he knows Nate Robinson is the Jordan of PGs and the Bulls don't need him.
