I was a big time fan of Michael Jordan as well as other players but The Rockets are my favorite team.

Some fans follow their favorite player, example LeBron James. I know a lot of people who are fans of the Heat because of him.

This main issue is an old time fan of that team cant critique that player without the fan who is a fan because of a particular player getting on the defensive.

anyone who grew up in the 80s/90s saw michael jordan. if you were talking about bulls vs rockets. the rockets fans have plenty of memories of what really happened on the court.

i'm one of those guys if you showed me a rockets vs bulls game, in the 80s,90s,00s,

I'll always root for the Rockets. and especially the 80s and 90s cause I know (historically proven) that the bulls front court couldn't hold dream's jockstrap.

You get no arguments from tinman. Dream and Thorpe were beast back then with Carl Herrera coming off the bench. And yes we have plenty of memories indeed. Ole V Maxwell was a thorne in MJ side. Sam Cassel, Kenny Smith, Mario kiss the death E, Robert big Shot Horry well special players. Don't forget Clyde Drexler. Lol those were the years.

If you follow a team because of one player, and if that player were to leave then you would no longer follow that team... then you are not a fan of the team, you are merely a fan of that player, who happens to be on whatever team....

not saying that's bad thing... it simply is what it is...

Let me rephrase the question to come to the answer.

If you only really care about 1 son (whoever it may be) then are you really a family man (or woman)?

    a. Yes, if you also love your other children and wish them to succeed (even when your favorite son gets an F).
    b. No, if you want your other children to get ejected from school if your favorite son gets an F.

No, but a good counter question is, are you a Rockets fan if all you do is hate on one (or more) Rockets player(s) whoever it may be?

Far too often this forum is more about propping one player up and tearing someone down. I am fine with criticism but folk are just getting foolish with the blame they are throwing on some players.

For example, Greg Smith, while still not great on defense has improved as the season went along (at least until this playoff series) yet so few people give him credit for that. Meanwhile Terrance Jones in his limited minutes is a messiah and next defensive big man off a few good blocks. People round here are still saying the guy is our answer at stretch 4 when he hasn't made 1 3 point shot in the NBA outside of the preseason/summer league.

Hard to ignore them, when they have virtually taken over the entire forum in recent month, and polarized the great bulk of the Clutch community.
Tons of old timers here just gave up and left because of it. So am I supposed to just ignore that, and not care that it has been going on? That doesn't sound like a great fan to me.
