Parsons went on vacation for awhile as well if I remember correctly. I don't expect the guys to live and breathe basketball 24/7. They need a break as well, and Lin was rehabbing from knee surgery anyways. And if there's one thing I think everyone from the coaches to writers to Morey has agreed on is that Lin has incredible work ethic. You don't just go from scrub on the bench to starter without hard work.

While I'm still wary if Lin can ever become a top 10 PG like his fans claim, I think after this offseason he'll be a solid starter. He's improved almost all aspects of his game during the season, especially his jumper.

    in 82 games this season

    Lin: 12-13
    HOU
    82
    32.2mpg
    0.441 fg
    0.339 3pt fg
    0.785 ft
    3.0 Rebs
    6.1 asts
    1.6 stl
    0.4 blk
    2.88 to
    2.50 PF
    13.4pts

    Mike Conley
    12-13
    MEM
    80 games
    34.5 min
    0.440 fg
    0.362 3pt
    0.830 ft
    2.8 rebs
    6.1 ast
    2.2 stl
    0.3blk
    2.36 TO
    2.14 PF
    14.6 PTS

Mike Conley is in his 6th season, plays on average, 2 more minutes a game, shoots 2% better from 3pt land, and averages half a turnover less per game.

What is everyone complaining about his production? Sure, he might not be a top 5 PG, but I think it's realistic he'll be one of the more stable point guards in the league. I've been a season ticket holder for the past 9 years and he's definitely has more "true" play-making court vision than any PG we've had during that timespan. Think about it-- Francis, Sura, Alston, Brooks, Lowry, Dragic.

I expect that jump-shot will be somewhat more reliable and his ball-handling and decision-making will be better next season. In 35 games in NYC -- in 26 minutes a contest, he was still averaging 3.6TOs. Also, if you've been watching the games closely, he easily could have averaged another 1 to and change times, per game. Too many dropped balls by Asik/others down low on the baseline. There were times I'd count 2 or 3 of those a game. I expect that conversion rate to improve as our finishing at the basket by bigs improves. Even Chuck Hayes/scola can catch and easily convert any of those tosses.

Not a LOH,..but he really does see the play happening before it occurs. Can't speak to the rest of his deficiencies..broken jumper like "0-fer Alston,"..
    turnovers like Steve Franchise.

The off-season is 5 months long, and people are already complaining about any vacation that Jeremy will take or the fish that he will catch and release.

You can't train everyday in the offseason. You need to take a couple weeks off in between training sessions to let your body recover. If you train too hard, your body will break down during the season.

My cousin saw Lin outside the club on Saturday. He had too much to drink...was basically sick.

Edit: As did I yesterday. Not sure how made it to work LOL. Go **** yourself, Cinco de Mayo.

I want to see how his off the ball game improve during the offseason, especially his catch-and-shoot and cutting aspects. If he becomes really good at those facets, he will be a lot better at playing with Harden. Harden on the other hand needs to cut way more on this team. Too many times, he just stands around on the perimeter without the ball. Not sure if he is tired or what, but with how much defensive focus he gets, if he is more active off the ball, it can really open things up for him. What I really want to see on this team is a passing mid range PF ala Webber or Gasol. That will really open up the PnR and screen play for us.

If lin stays with the rockets, i do hope he does improve this offseason instead of touring around the world. He has a lot of work to do.

He's sounding like a broken record, every post game interview hes done bad in all he says is i need to do better i need to improve, its time to actual put something behind those words.

Considering how popular Lin is, I find it extremely entertaining that your cousin is the only one who saw him clubbing and having too much to drink. I mean, there was ZERO tweet/picture/instagram/fan-sighting of that. There was, however, picture of him doing volunteer work.

Why do people still use stats to compare players? The Rockets are the highest paced team in the league, every single stat that a Rockets player has would be lower on another team. Using stats to compare players overrates the players on Houston. Comparing Conley's stats on Memphis to Lins shows lack of understanding.

That's what the offseason is for, it's not that easy to make great leaps during the regular season. He said he will work hard, and there hasn't been much to prove that he wont. The last game wasn't even a week ago, give him a break.

    Houston: 98.6 possessions/game
    Memphis: 91.1 possessions/game

    Jeremy Lin Usage Rate: 20.6
    Mike Conley Usage Rate: 21.3

    Lin 20.3 possessions/game
    Conley 19.4 possessions/game

    Conley's Stats: 14.6 PPG on 11.8 FGA, 6.1 assists
    Lin's Stats: 13.4 PPG on 10.9 FGA, 6.1 assists

Just because Houston has the fastest pace in the league, it doesn't mean Lin's numbers are inflated compared to Conley's. Lin averages less than one more possession per game but also averages one less shot than Conley.

At this point in his career of course Conley is better than Lin. In Conley's first season as a starter he only averaged 10.9 pts and 4.3 assists.

Out of all your Lin bashing posts, I can't believe I agree with you on this one.

Players don't really have the time to work on improving their game during the season.

Lin has a choice. Yao Ming didn't because of government involvement in basketball.

I believe Lin will still tour. He knows he's a brand.

Lin was out partying with Parsons. Not sure why you're so dismissive of it, because it's not even a big deal - especially when the season's already over...
