Teams want Sampson because they want all that marketing money from India. He is the Jeremy Lin of coaches.

didn't Charlotte just hire a new coach before the season started? That job seems to be a career death sentence.

I don't get why everyone is in love with Finch? Great, he won a D-League championship. Now Nurse has as well. Are we jumping on his band wagon now? My question is- Has anyone ever seen him be vocal/coach from our bench? Enlighten me as to why he is qualified to get such praise.

Hell, I don't even know what he looks like. Do you? Finch has kind of been set up to be the man behind the curtain on the Rockets' coaching staff, but we haven't really heard a thing about him since he was hired by the big club. I don't think we've had any confirmation about what his actual role is. For all we know, he's getting Kelvin Sampson his coffee every morning.

It sure seemed like Finch was being fast-tracked a couple of years ago, but he's been practically invisible to the public since. Who knows what he's up to?

agreed. remember all the threads about sampson when he was running the HC spot while McHale was tending to personal business? Some questionable stuff he was pulling.

Chris Finch is part of the reason why our offense is great.

I'm guessing teams don't know who Finch is so that's probably not an issue.

He's the white guy that's always talking to Harden and Lin on the bench, usually has a bunch of papers in his hand. They don't usually show him and he gets half-cut off alot because the shot is focused on Harden, Lin, or a PG.

Honestly though, you don't usually hear much of a coaching staff besides the Head Coach.

This was inevitable ...but this is definitely a huge blow. I wouldn't take anything away from McHale's success this year, but Sampson was a huge part of it. I think he's gonna be a great NBA coach some day ...too bad it won't be for Houston.

Does Kelvin Sampson wear his denim shirts to interviews?

He will get offered the job by the Bucks and I expect him to accept. He was an assistant in the past there. He is a very good coach. He has the respect of the players, has had a very solid defensive strategy all season and is a workaholic. He is also a very bright man.

Concerning his replacement, I am sure they would love to have Dave Jorger from Memphis, but that isn't happening. They could go for an experienced defensive coach like Gentry or Frank. Another option is to give the reins to Nurse or Bickerstaff. The Rockets are very high on Bickerstaff.

Finch is primarily responsible for the Rockets offense. He also was the leader in adjusting the offense after the Harden deal.

He has had his hands tied due to the late Harden trade, and so many young inexperienced players.

I am not sure why Finch needs to be vocal, his job is to establish the offense and make adjustments during the course of the season. Further, he has to answer to McHale.

I dont know what Clutch thinks, but one would have to think Nick Nurse would be a possibility to bring up from the D-League.

Phil Jackson would be better than all of these guys.
