My wife and I looked at each other like, "Uh, how about a bath FIRST? You've waited this long. Give it another three or four minutes, hunh?" Of course the next one to use the baths was probably the Warg: "All right, who splooged in the hot tub? We put up a sign about that....who took down the sign?!?! Ah, this is nasty; and you didn't even replace the LifeBuoy soap............"
That was a great scene, not sure best of all but very good...then ending was pretty good too...And snow is a dirty bird!
I'm sure this was the foundation episode to something big in the next couple of weeks, but it really felt like a throw away ep tonight.
- "The Lysa Arryn of Chairs." Shade of the most flaw less kind! - Olenna and Tywin was the best scene tonight. Period! "A sword swallower, through and through." Jajajaja!!!!
It's nice to see somebody go toe to toe with Tywin Lannister for once, even though in the end she did concede (I'm guessing she has more up her sleeves though). Another set up episode, but it would be pretty impossible to have epic episodes every week!
The Joffrey Ros prostitute murder at the end was chilling. Good to have a reminder that no matter how much Margery thinks she has Joffrey wrapped around her little finger, this kid is out of control and things could go very, very badly for her at any time.
book change: Spoiler So they've written Wilas and Garlan Tyrell out of the show? A little disappointing considering Garlan is the best swordsman in the realm. But a reasonable change. You wonder if GRRM has plans for those characters in the books. I imagine the showrunners asked him about it.
File it under "too many characters" to keep track of, and if they do anything of real importance later one, the act can be fulfilled by somebody else without losing anything. I'd say the bigger change in this episode was: Spoiler Melisandre coming to the mainland to take Gendry to be a sacrifice for R'hollor since he's Robert's b*stard and thus has "the blood of a king in his veins". It makes sense. They've never mentioned Edric Storm on the show, I don't think. Even if they have, he's been forgotten about. It makes sense to try to sacrifice the one b*stard we've been watching for awhile instead.
Olenna has been great all season, I really like the character. Really enjoyed their scene together as well.
that scene with ros was chilling. when i saw joffrey sitting there with his crossbow, you knew something very bad happened to her.
I kinda felt that way but I thought it wrapped up very well with Littlefinger's speech (although I hate the grating too-many-cigarettes tone the actor affects), Joffrey's chilling target practice, and the view from the top of the wall.
Spoiler I was wondering if that was new or just something I didn't remember from the books. Since Melisandre says she'll be seeing Arya again, I guess GRRM has told HBO about what he has planned for her.
Whenever Little Finger and Varys are alone talking .. . it is gold Watching how they subtle move people around Those two are playing chess and Cersei is playing connect the dots. I like the addition of the kid from MISFITS in misfits he looked odd and outkast . . . early English nerdy here he reminds me of Elijah Wood in SIN CITY Spoiler Is he suppose to be Rouse Bolton's b*stard? I have not heard anyone say his name yet Rocket River
I am hating all the Theon scenes. I really dont like the mindless torture, I've wiki'd the books to see what the purpose is and there doesn't really seem to be a purpose to toy with him like this. Then again I hate all type of torture.
