I had a galaxy nexus, and a cheap galaxy prepaid before this. I was really thinking hard about about the S4, but I read a lot of positives about the One. Truth be told, I wanted a Note 3 or Motorola X phone, but I don't want to wait until September. I'm very happy with this phone so far (loved my Galaxy nexus btw).
Thank you; I feel really stupid now. I'm used to sweeping up from the home button on my Nexus 7 / GNexus.
No problem dude. The only reason I knew was I watched a video review of how they entered Google Now. Another thing: Double tap the home button to get into recent apps.
Yeah, took me awhile to figure that one out. Not sure if I like it or not, I like the simplicity but I preferred the dedicated app switch button (it seems to not always register a double tap). I think I'm going to end up having to get rid of the SenseUI on here pretty quickly. Love the phone though.
I went to T-Mobile at West Oaks and they told me most T-Mobile stores don't have the One in stock. I guess I have to go online?
Far and away my biggest gripe with phone cameras is how poor they are in imperfect light, especially indoors. If the HTC One is much better in this regard, that is a huge selling point IMO. Perfect crispness in perfect conditions doesn't matter much to me. 4-5MP is just fine outdoors in light. I'm still going to wait on the Nexus 5 or X-phone, but if I had to choose now, it's clearly the HTC One over the S4. I got a chance to hold and play with one at a T-Mobile store last week and the thing is great. Congrats to HTC for breaking into the duopoly and giving consumers a 3rd legit top-of-the-line option.
I know reviews have consistently said that its low-light camera performance is very clearly better than the competition, including the Galaxy S4. I also played with one at Best Buy yesterday. The phone really is gorgeous. Just completed my order on T-Mobile. Can't wait.
I picked up a gs4 last night. Its an impressive phone. I wasn't too fond of the styling of the HTC one and I never got used to the windows set up. The screen is much nicer than my old gnex, which is pretty much all I care about at this point.
So im all set to get this phone, it hits stores on the 15th, but i can go to tmobiles site and order it with 2-3 days shipping! Im just hoping the process is easy online, anyone else do it that way?
Yike. Only 8GB of free storage space on a 16GB Samsung galaxy s4 for $700? Yeah I know there's a SD slot but totally useless if you need spaces for apps.
Ordered mine online, expecting it by Wednesday. It's fairly straightforward to do, and you can have someone guide you through the process through live chat if you want. I was actually quite impressed -- it was like going to the store but without the hassle of actually going.
For everyone who bought their HTC one in the past few days (cut off was Sunday I believe) don't forget to mail in your old phone for your $100+.
