    lin from game 41 to 82 = 45 fg% and 39 3p%

only five point-guards averaged those numbers this season. if he can step up to around 50fg%, like parsons did this year, our offense is going to be amazing.

Lin might not even be the starter next season. Beverley has proven that he can compete with anyone at the point guard position and just like Jeremy, he's only 24.

I like that we have competition at the point guard position, at least we'll have an opportunity to see if Lin can play up to that contract.

I give Lin one more season, if he doesn't make significant strides next season, i could see the Rockets unloading him before they have to pay that 3 year at 15 million.

I have no doubt that Jeremy will work on his weaknesses this summer. He is more motivated than ever.

During the off season, he'll attend the wedding of Landry Fields and Elaine Alden. Landry confirmed this on his twitter.

Regarding his Asia trip, he'll probably go to Taiwan to conduct training camps for the kids. This would give him the opportunity to visit his grandmother and relatives living in Taiwan. I wouldn't be surprised if he brings his shooting coach, Doc, to assist him like he did last summer. One of the conditions that Jeremy insisted on during his trip was he be close to a gym or bb court to workout.

The season just ended and Jeremy and Chandler helping others and in the community.

Lin makes like Parsons and improves his shot this offseason, and everyone will shut up. His defense is underrated. His court vision is undeniable. He definitely has the size. He just needs to put it all together.

I'm on board for keeping it together another year and adding an offensive four with good rebounding ability to turn us into a top four seed in the West next year. That's gotta be the goal now, top four.

    i know

i just hope theres no more injuries

and this summer, lin will know his role better. last training camp, im pretty sure he was more focused as THE primary ball handler. this coming camp, he should start improving his spot up shooting in a more concentrated manner

lol, Beverley has 2 decent games against OKC's backup PGs and suddenly he can compete with any PG in the league.

I think Lin showed at least as much as Nash in his first year in Dallas as side kick to a young Dirk. But if Gary Payton then or Paul now were available, I'd trade up in both cases. However, it'd make no sense to upgrade to a Dragic, Lowry, George Hill type PG, unless you believe that Lin is almost at his upside already.

Where do you get these by month stats? I have a feeling that we'll see Lin is better than we think if we look at Lin's stats in the second half of the season.

Jeremy Lin is the PG this team needs. I hope he is our starter for years to come.

I like Beverley's game and the spark he brings but let's be realistic, I think the love affair with Beverley is more because of the RELATIVE success he has had.

He was a very late season signee, and it was amazing to see him check in and score maybe 8 or 10 pts and hand out 2 assists plus the inspired jitterbug play.
Once in a while he had great games, like the 16-12-6 game against OKC and the 4th qtr outburst against the Spurs. But he does hover at an average of about 10 pts and 3 asts.

Relative to the hype on the other hand, Lin may have disappointed people with his 17 and 7 average. Once in a while he had great games like the 38 pt Spurs game and plenty of games well above his scoring average and lots of double digit assist games.

Relative to each other though, 10pts and 3 asts vs 17pts and 7 asts, who would you start and who would you have coming off the bench for the longer term?

Sorry, this post is almost the same as the last one, but I would even prefer to see stats covering the whole second half of the season rather than month by month. Particularly, I'm interested in FTA/G, shots at the rim, FG% at the rim, and APG for the 2nd half of the season.

It's in the Game Log tab of Lin's ESPN profile. I actually misread - the stats I was looking at was for Feb. and March.

    Regular Season 3pt %

    October - 0% (0 for 2 in Game 1)
    November - 26.3%
    December - 29.2%
    January - 32.7%
    February - 42.4%
    March - 40.0%
    April - 36.4%

Yeah, I mean everyone has to give him major props for that improvement. That's good stuff. Thanks!

The only thing that really p*sses me off about him is that he makes 2-3 horrendously stupid turnovers every game. Other than that, he seemed like a quality PG the second half of the season. I'd also say he is much better than Beverley on the offensive end. Lin can actually be a weapon when he's aggressive and attacking the basket. Ppl say we need post offense so bad - that's not where it's at in the NBA these days. Rule changes and what not have swung the pendalum fully over to the backcourt. I don't know if I want a post player taking drives away from Lin, Harden, and Parsons. I want Lin to attack even more! That's just the kind of player I happen to like.

In what world does Lin average 17 and 7? I would be estatic if he was averaging that.

I rather have a guy that is always wanting to improve. How can you not like his attitude? I mean thats the one trait that EVERYONE agrees that they like about the polarizing Jeremy Lin. The dude stunk it up in the playoff, he knows it, and he knows the distance he has to cover to become good. Better this attitude then Howard's diva-like attitude.

And? Because everybody should act the same way? Because everyone who stunk it up when they compete should just wave it off right? Are you going to tell me Jeremy Lin is THE ONLY athlete that is too hard on himself and is THE ONLY athlete to criticize himself in public? hes letting us know he's not satisfy with where he is, and you criticize him for it.

I love how people go around spewing these golden drops of knowledge like they know the inner working of the NBA. YOU know all about it right? Were YOU ever in the NBA? What made you the all knowing authoritative figure on the subject? No one that matters so far (to my knowledge) have called Lin a scrub or "beat him down" with what he said in his interview. And when I said people who matters, I meant people who have been around the NBA all their life, not some keyboard warrior sitting behind the comfort of his monitor typing away pointing out the flaws of our starting point guard. I thought I've seen it all with people criticizing him about every aspect of his game but this is new.
