man... that's what my coach would call "An ass hole pass." Eller was just following the pass with his head turned, didn't even see it coming. Terrible pass

Didn't hit "square enough" - come on..... Don't tell me the NHL is turning soft now. I'd be ok with 1 game (even though I don't think he should've gotten suspended at all), but 2 games?
WTF Fleury????? Thanks to Kyle Okposo bouncing one off of Marc-Andre Fleury's back with about 6 minutes left, the Islanders steal one in Pittsburgh.
Dominating performance by the Hawks. Vancouver loses again, this time choking away a 2-1 lead with less than a minute left. Then in OT Raffi Torres had the game winning goal for the Sharks. Tough to see Vancouver winning this series being down 2-0 and headed to the Tank for games 3 and 4. That is not an easy place for opposing teams to win.
Off-topic... but I just stumbled across the news that Susannah Collins was let go by CSN Chicago. Not because of this slip-up... <iframe width="560" height="315" src="http://www.youtube.com/embed/q6BvNrdKfKY" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe> ...but, because of YouTube videos she did years ago, according to the Chicago Tribune. This was before she was ever hired by the network. <blockquote class="twitter-tweet"><p>If Susannah Collins was fired for racy videos, what will the 'Hawks do about the scantily-clad Ice Girls and Shoot-the-Puck eye-candy?</p>— Dan Bernstein (@dan_bernstein) <a href="https://twitter.com/dan_bernstein/status/330330779018219521">May 3, 2013</a></blockquote> <script async src="//platform.twitter.com/widgets.js" charset="utf-8"></script> Original story, published on Friday morning rofl @ the bolded part Oh, so they turned the other cheek to all this when they first hired her, and now they decide that this is a convenient time to pull her past up after her flub? Oooooooooohkay then. Apparently the Tribune got hold of a letter from Hawks majority owner Rocky Wirtz to the network execs, which may have played a role. Here's one of the videos in question: <iframe width="560" height="315" src="http://www.youtube.com/embed/j5cm8Q3S5UQ" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>
John McDonough was likely behind it, at least that's one of my suspicions. Some people have too much power these days.
Fun New York - Washington game. Lundqvist was looking vintage for a while. Wait - there are teams besides the Blackhawks?
Going in, I thought this would be the best 1st round series in the West. The Kings have a way of getting under your skin, and the Blues are just as physical.
I really think St. Louis (if they're able to advance) will give any team trouble because of their defense and physicality. Out of all the teams that are down 0-2, I think the team with the best chance to comeback and win their series would be the Kings. Really looking forward to Isles and Pens again this afternoon. This is a true David vs. Goliath series. Pulling for the Isles.
Would also love the see the Islanders win. Really, who wouldn't? A comment above reminded me of this article below. I read this the other day during lunch. It's very long, but very interesting with NFL and NHL implications for fans and players alike. It's about the Eric Lindros story & the ongoing phenomenon of concussions. http://espn.go.com/nhl/story/_/page...ed-nhl-culture-playing-injuries-espn-magazine I also have reservations about the NHL going soft and increasing penalties and fines, but there seems to be a real need for player protection. Supposedly a movie about the career of Derek Boogaard is in the works. He played in town for the Aeros and eventually for the Wild and Rangers before passing away a few years ago. I am interested to see what message the producer sends with that movie.
Eh... good win Wild. This also happened. <blockquote class="twitter-tweet"><p>Justin Abdelkader suspended for 2 games, Ken Holland said.</p>— Ansar Khan (@AnsarKhanMLive) <a href="https://twitter.com/AnsarKhanMLive/status/331177406222196736">May 5, 2013</a></blockquote> <script async src="//platform.twitter.com/widgets.js" charset="utf-8"></script> Because of this hit on Toni Lydman.... <iframe width="560" height="315" src="http://www.youtube.com/embed/XpBIFsbcy6Q" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>
Yeah, I fully understand player safety. It seems as though it's happening in every sport though and not just hockey. Hopefully they don't take away too much from the game. And yeah and I had a feeling the Wild would win this game with their backs against the wall. The Hawks really didn't show up. Surprised they were able to get it to OT, but Minnesota outplayed the Hawks and deserved to win.
