They need a coach that'll make those guys play with a little passion. They should have beat Chicago, not taking away from them, but the Bulls were so beat up, and Brooklyn was clearly the more talented team. They just played with less energy and tried to rely on their talent.
Why do people continue to think that coaches can work miracles? This has never happened in the history of the league.
The real question is, "Does JVG still want to coach?". I get the impression he's happy doing tv work.
He seems to really like living in Houston. That would be cool to have him replace Clyde. I'm sure Leslie wouldn't go for it.
Honestly. Calvin needs to just retire. Let Bullard replace him and hochen for reading worthless tweets. And have JVG replace bullard with Bill and Clyde. Won't happen though. No way he leaves that cushy job unless its for a very good head coaching position.
You dont want to be a coach working for a russian billionaire, they're hot headed and prone to replacing you at any sign the team isn't going "great", and prokhorov seems no different to abramovich's chelsea reign of terror.
Leslie can't afford to pay JVG's market value as a broadcaster. I'm sure Clyde and Bull make peanuts compared to the national guys. I know that the NY teams have employed guys who also do national games (Breen, Fratello, Marv), but they probably have a whole different level of operating budget given the market size.
Why would JVG wanna coach again though? In his current position he is allowed to blast the NBA, and the refs all he wants without getting a fine from Stern lol
JVG is certainly the right coach for the Nets. But are the Nets the right job for JVG? Does he really have it in him to take a NY job after having coached in Houston and being on TV for so long?
JVG is a better commentator than a coach. The last time he coached an NBA team, he had no offensive competence and kept acquiring washed up role players he had from former teams whom provided very little.

The way the Nets fire coaches, it would be good financial move for JVG. He could get elite coach pay for four years and only have to work a half a season.
Seems like he said he had his youngest in the middle of his first season in Houston. That would be around middle school age or about to enter middle school?
