Grats to Morey. The Rockets are lucky to have him.

As for McHale, I've been hard on McHale for a good part of the season. That said, if it really was Harden pushing the ISO play for the latter part of the season I'm okay with giving McHale the time to work it out.

I still think there are better coaching options, but the team could do a lot worse. The players seem to like him and that's a significant part of being a head coach.

If indeed Sampson is leaving, I hope they find a really strong X's and O's assistant to back him up. I still don't trust McHale's ability to read the pace of the game, but a great assistant can cover a lot of weak spots.

One can hope that a 2nd season as the Head Coach with this roster will give him the necessary time and clout to feel out the players and settle them down into a more cohesive unit on both sides of the floor.

Morey deserves it just based on the Harden steal alone..but he also got solid players in Lin and Asik (who's probably worth near max) at a bargain.

Happy about Morey. He is so passionate about his job and always trying to improve our roster. I think he deserve EOY this year.

I am okay with McHale. I think with an offseason together and adding in some real plays that this team can only improve. It will be an added bonus if we can somehow get Dwight and have McHale teach him some real big man moves.

I am really excited about this offseason and looking forward to what these team will do in the next few seasons.

    GO ROCKETS!

    No brainer on Morey.

I think McHale is a positive element with regards to FA recruiting. Especially with Dwight Howard. That alone should keep him in Houston for next season.

And how much stability will there be? This roster is not set in stone. Two guys are, one likely. The others? Not too sure. At all. You?

I will not believe KS gets a head job until Carl Herrara tells me so.

I thought the rockets don't extend contracts.

if Mori were to be in charge of all things in life, peace between conflicting nations would be in full effect, but most importantly..all providers would be showing the games.

He is one of the best. Fourth best after Buford, D.Wade and presti. I would say that after the harden trade daryl>presti.

    Agreed.

Or we pursue top talents available in the trade pool, or not available but we try to make them be. As in Kevin Love, LaMarcus Aldridge, etc.

Same here on McHale. But, since he's going to stay, I really hope he can add some more wrinkles to his offense and stop letting it be so ISO-dominated.

You know Mister Alexander is a linebacker for the Texans.

The key is that Morey is here for the long haul. Our team will only go as far as Morey can take it.

What if these adjustments came about b/c he was listening to Kelvin a little more, but then we lose Kelvin to another team. This is assuming Kelvin was the source for these adjustments.

McHale should really be harder on Harden if Harden is the one sticking to the ISO play.

Meh McHale isn't as bad as Kubiak. I personally like McHale. Took the youngest team in the NBA to the playoffs with a completely new roster

The Rockets do have a play book.

The Rockets play Omer Asik quite a bit. The Rockets go small because of lack of production at the 4, and because the plus/minus differential was insane this year.

I am not sure what you people want. McHale did not design most of the offense or defense. His job was to oversee everyone, make sure everyone worked together and the players played hard; simply he was brought in to be a leader.

He took a virtually new starting 5, and a second year player with what appeared to be limited offensive upside, and molded them into a 45 win team, even with no power forward and the least experienced team in the league.

To steal from Rick Pitino, Phil Jackson isn't walking through that door, neither is Greg Popovich or Rick Carsile. Who do you want?
