Go for Chris Paul and Dwight Howard as hard as you can. If you can't get Paul, start looking for Lin's replacement via draft or trade. If you can't get Howard, sign a veteran PF and try for Aldridge or Love next year. Delfino, Garcia, etc. are nice to have's but replaceable. Sign Beverly up as insurance.
1) Get a 2nd big (besides Asik) who earns his minutes - we would have looked a lot better in the series if someone worth a damn could have spelled Asik. 2) Get a veteran who can help instill a better defensive mindset. This team's lack of D isn't so much based on a lack of effort or talent as it is a lack of defensive IQ. Having a defensive coach on the floor (even if they come off the bench) would work wonders for this team. 3) Get a true defensive stopper. So the obvious answer is ..... we get the Chuckwagon back.
i was actually thinking the same thing about kg. if he's relatively healthy i wouldnt mind bringing him in on a team friendly contract to bridge til lma and klove fa. he would be a great fit next to asik, he and mchale have a good repore, and he could help mentor tjones and trob. and resign delfino. we really saw 2nite how our bench looked without him. on a side note its too bad sisco wont come on the cheap cuz he really was starting to look good in red
Sign Dwight. Trade Asik+pieces for a star PF- (Smith, Aldridge, or preferably K Love) Trade Lin, start Bev. Dump some of our bench players, sign some free agents to make our bench stronger. Tony Allen and Jarrett Jack sound pretty good. If we did get Jack, I'd prefer he be our starter. Jack/Bev Harden/Allen Parsons/ Love(preferably) but realistically, Smith / Jones Howard / ? Even if we didn't get Howard, a Love/Asik front court sounds very nice and would be unstoppable on the boards.
- Give Lin the offseason to prove he deserves to be the PG of this team - if Beverley outplays him - I'd be looking for trade partners. - Have the coaching staff implement offensive sets to get Harden easier shots and eliminate the majority of the isos. To me, McHale has earned the right to continue on as the Rockets coach for now thanks to his adjustments this series. - Go after Dwight. There are so many possibilities if we sign him. 1) Have a Twin Towers with Asik and Dwight. The pro is we own the best defense and rebounding in the league. The con is our team could be at a loss when the Hack - A - whoever comes out to play. 2) Find trade partners for Asik. His stock is at an all time high. A good deal will be out there. - If Dwight comes into play - make a play for JJ Redick. He is the backcourt partner that is perfect for Harden and the Rockets. He doesn't need the ball to be effective and to get his points. He uses screens and presents himself as a misdirection on every possession. He is money from downtown. - Keep Delfino and Garcia if their salary doesn't come into play in effecting the above. With the right tweaking - this team can go places. I love Houston Rockets basketball.
both cp3 and dwight got bounced out of the first round... neither team really has the ability to get much better we can get both with some creative maneuvering that requires us to trade asik and lin Dwight X Parsons Harden CP3 = win
true, i am a little more optimistic about cp3 leaving because the clips aren't going to get much better, even if they change their coach. the only problem is trading lin. I really don't see anyone wanting Lin when he will be making 15 million dollars in 2 years. I think we're stuck with Lin for the next 2 years.
time for Daryl Morey to show if he's on top of his game "Great players understand that you need to play with other great players to win the title" his twitter tagline
They are in the black. EBITDA is about 11 mil which is probably above average in the league and will most likely improve in the future http://www.forbes.com/teams/indiana-pacers/
Didn't know about that interest free loan they got. Doesn't change the fact that if they do not move Granger, it may be hard for them to keep West, especially given that he is easily worth the $10 million he made this year.
Don't see why it'll be hard for them to keep both West and Granger. for next year They can retain both while still remaining under the tax and keep the team salary around the same as this year.
