When Harden sat out 2 games and we won 2 times. There were a few people who wanted Harden to sit and not play the rest of the season because it ruins chemistry. Those people are stupid and are brushed off as idiots. When Lin sits out 2 games and we won. There is a big group of "Rocket fans" who doesn't want him to play. Those people are suddenly smarter than the one who wants Harden out to maintain chemistry. This is a sad day to be a Rockets fan. But I don't care, I'm rooting for the entire team to come out blazing.

One game almost lose by Harden. Second game he stops handling the ball and result much better ball movement and teamwork. Rockets win or lose? Pretty much depends on Harden sticky with the ball or not.
criticism is a better word. Thanks for your input Thanks for discussing it. I did not put him on my ignore list because we don't think the same; I always welcome people to contradict my opinions. But I'm sure you can go back and read, it was more of an attack. Half of his opinions were a direct attack at who I am as a person starting with calling me a "POS". I do not need anymore input from him on this forum. Cheers
I really think they should have waited until the next series, or next year. The team has a rythmn right now.... Let's hope it doesn't screw up the chemistry - we are protecting the ball so much better lately. DD
I know what happened to him. RIP. But I think some of us will get the 'grasshopper' reference and some will not
Right. It's called a set-up. What Lin Doubters seem to be doing here, or trying to do, is set-up the situation such that no matter what happens, Lin can't "win." What they probably fear most is Lin coming back and helping lead the team to a win. That would destroy the flawed narrative of Game 4 and Game 5 (I say "flawed" because those two games came without Westbrook in the lineup, whereas when Lin was playing he was playing against Westbrook until Westbrook was injured. Lin's own injury also changed the equation). So, when you hear stuff like "Twitter is not supportive of Lin playing, and they are going to hate on him if he plays poorly," understand this is likely an attempt at ramping up the pressure on Lin, and his fans, in hopes (I believe) that Lin fails and so then the negative narrative is fulfilled. I talked about this the other day here. And I said that Lin has passed nearly all of the tests he has had to pass this year. Got over the knee injury, came back from a terrible start, got past the "bench him for Douglas, bench him for Beverley" stuff, etc. Thus, all that remains is the playoffs. If you are a Doubter or Hater, then, this is your last shot at "exposing" the "overhyped" Lin and turning the narrative in your favor. As I've said before, I want the team to win. I don't care how we win. Still, the agendas here seem as clear as a newly-shined window pane on a sunny day. Lin needs more attitude, because putting up 29/6/7 or whatever against the Thunder with Westbrook and being clutch down the stretch would be MUCH better if it came with an elbow -- and a technical -- to go along with it. Sad. Yes, Beverley -- defensive wizard -- got blowtorched by Reggie Jackson in the 4th quarter of Game 5. Jackson hung 11 points on Beverley in that quarter. Beverley had 2 points, I think, on like 1-4 FG in that same quarter. Not exactly the stuff of Lin putting up 16 points in the 4th against the Sixers last year to give New York the win. But, whatever. I just want the team to win tonight. If we win, everything will take care of itself. If you're a Lin fan, ignore the doubters and haters. Their attempts are so obvious and clumsy it's barely even worth responding to them. Haters gonna hate. Winners gonna win.
^^^ and even if he plays well phislamma, it'll be because he took a week off and was well-rested.....while his comrades were busy manning up and manning the fort
It does tell you a lot about what McHale thinks about him, if Harden were out he would be starting regardless. I just hope we get more of Bev and Brooks because they are killing OKC with their speed and quickness. DD
Lol Harden is much better than Lin so you can't compare the situation. No one played in Harden's role better than him when he was gone. Aaron Brooks and Beverley have filled in Lin's roll thus far
I disagree somewhat, I think most of us just don't want to screw up a good thing. Doesn't mean anyone thinks any less of Lin - I like the guy, but you just don't mess up a winning streak....... DD
I'm not even going to argue about this. If you don't think both situations are stupid, then nothing I say with change the shades of your goggles.
Exactly. I don't hate Lin but I just don't want him messing up our chemistry right now. However if he comes in and is a huge spark off the bench then great, more firepower. BUT, if he comes in and looks like he did in game 1 then.......
This thread is going at the game thread rate. It's crazy To this point, many are arguing about whatifs, and what kind of reaction/perception some strangers over the Internet might have after the game, with certain outcome/scenario. That's just too complicated! You can't discuss that, there is no answer to any of it. Why don't we all just be happy that Lin can play a few minutes, so we will have a lot more hot topics? Let's just root for the team to win. Then we can start a new topic to argue, how exactly Lin is the reason or part of the reason we win, or the team just win in spite of Lin.
If Lin drops 18-20+ tonight nobody will have anything negative to say against him. if he makes big plays, hustles at least half as much as BEV, and just plays a great game, nobody will have anything bad to say against him. IMO there are no Lin only haters, nobody, or if true, VERY few members signed up on these forums just to take jabs at Jeremy Lin. Thats way too much work for a person who doesn't personally have an effect on your life. However everyone here should be rockets fans, whether you joined because of jeremy lin, or to support the team. Nobody thats not a LOF cares enough to WANT to see lin fail. As someone who thinks lin should be traded, if the guy can play and sink his shots and show some real Linsanity tonight, then let the guy do his thing, i want whoever and whatever it takes for this team to win. and lately, with lin being out most people feel like what we have in order to win, is our lineup without lin in the picture. So if he does well tonight, Lin will get my props and respect along with many others who are already expecting him to suck it up, If he does bad and we lose, then of course you will hear about it.
I probably have a much more cynical view of human nature than you do, DaDakota. I admit that. Still, I've seen this type of "argument" before. I'm not painting everyone with the same brush here. I'm sure there are plenty of people who feel exactly the way you do. Probably most of the people. But not all of them. And that's the group of people I'm talking about in what I said. I want Houston to win. I'm good with McHale not starting Lin. Let's win, I don't care how we win.
