Don't forget the games in NY when he was the focal point. His numbers were are time legend then. I don't think Asik and Parsons are above Lin. But the reality is Lin is not the focal point, not really even playing as a PG and had to adjust his game and play a new role and position, that's way he only had 15 games this season above 20pts. It is what it is, but if Harden is out sick for game 6 and Lin is healthy, they should look to Lin to take control of the team, I think he's the only one capable of doing so (no offense to my man Parsons).
Erm, this may sound silly but I had a premonition dream a week back that Lin was traded to Lakers and he went berzerk for Linsanity 2.0 with Dwight and Gasol and Metta. It's funny because I hate the Lakers.
Problem is, is that Dwight, for some absurd/unknown/ludicrous reason, does not like being the roll man in PnRs. I think he wants to prove to the world that he's a great post up player, which he's not even close to being. Per synergy, he's the 10th best Roll Man in the league, which may actually be underrating his ability, but only the 120th best post up player, which is freaking abysmal if you consider his size and strength. However, if Dwight was committed to playing a majority of his possessions as a roll man, and the Lakers got a few reliable 3 point shooters, Lin would put up some serious stats...like 10 assists a game easy.

I'm with you on this. For some reason, I envisioned Dwight and Jeremy playing together on the same team, whether it's LAL or Rockets. However, I love Omer and his work ethic, attitude, always trying to improve to help the team win. Jeremy and Omer are good team mates.
I really don't get why people are down on Jeremy, a guy that has more than proved his toughness by getting knocked around, not getting calls, but still playing all 82 games. And a guy that has shot 37.5% from 3 post-ASB, after being a below average 3 pt shooter at best last year. There is no reason to think Lin can't shoot when there are FACTS. And he seems like the consummate teammate. I fully believe the team can make this all click next year, with Harden being the man most games, and Jeremy (or Chandler or PB) picking up the slack when Harden is off.
He played well with Melo. Of course he is not getting Linsanity points per game. But his numbers with Melo were not just above average. People should stop buying into those Bleacer report quality stories or analysis. Year Team GP GS MPG FG% 3P% FT% RPG APG SPG BPG PPG 2011–12 New York 35 25 26.9 .446 .320 .798 3.1 6.2 1.6 .3 14.6
There are 13 players at PG or SG position who put up more than 14.9/6.8 per 36 minutes with more than 25 minutes per game. Saying he is average starting PG is already a stretch and saying he is an average PG is just nonsense.
Those numbers mean nothing. Jeremy's numbers will be inflated because the Rockets play at the fastest pace in the NBA.
so you mean omer's rebounding is because we play fast pace? or hardens scoring average? it also means patrick beverly on a slow paced team would down right suck?

Jeremy lin is a very avg pg.
What is the source for your statistics? Rondo is number 1 in assist? He had been injured and out for long time.
I'm not sure why you guys are arguing so hard on whether our starting PG is an Avg. vs Above Avg. PG... what does this mean to you anyway? why are you so afraid to brand him as an above average pg? most known sports writers and reporters already accepted this... why can you? having an Above Avg. starting PG in our team is good right?
If you're all about stats and avg then you know JLin have lived up to his current contract. Using BS stat to compare PG to PG is r****ded. There so many different variable that can't be accounted for. If its all about stats why do we even have playoff games? Might as well give the champion cup to the number 1 team in the league since statistically they should win.
Why would it matter? You think your basic intellect in stats going to win championships or scope out the next best PG? You want a cookie for your stats? lol
Nice. I agree with your points on Pareto optimality. I guess we do not agree upon what we mean by average. A near perfect stats system would be to track all player movements from which we can get much much better idea of the players performance. The limitation is not stats. It is data collection.
