Patience, first year starter, CP3 was good but look at Rondo or Nash and what they did in their first year.

Jeremy Lin as THE PG (4 games when Harden was Injured)

21.5pt/7.3ass/60.3 TS% as THE focal point of the offense, 3 games came against 2 of the top 10 defenses in the league. Fully Scouted. Went 2-2, would have gone 3-1 if McHale's rotations were better for the San Antonio game.

You think any other player, let alone guard, on this team could put up those ridiculous numbers as the focal point?

The problem is we don't really need to worry what he can do when our superstar sits. Things have gone very very wrong if he has to play as the number one option more than a couple games a season.

Not saying I think Lin was bad this year, I just don't care what he can do as the man cause that's not what he is here to be. I want whoever can play the best next to harden not who can do the best without him.

I agree, I think Lin could be great someday. But not for the Rockets as constructed. He needs to go to Orlando. I want him to run his own team.

Lolz seriously? He isn't fit to be a number 1 option. If he were to succeed that way he would get injured pretty fast. He'll work really hard on his off ball skills this summer and surprise a lot of you next year (if he's not traded)

That's fine and and a reasonable opinion...but when people say that he is an average NBA player at best (not just a starter), and that he doesn't even deserve 25-30 minutes in a Ginobli role, it really screams blind hatred. I actually would have to agree that if Bev keeps shooting 3s as well as he has (which I find hard to fathom considering his professional resume, see below...and keeps improving on playing controlled defense, then he may be a better fit for the Rockets with Harden, especially given his super Parsons-like value contract). Also, I do admit that Lin's best role in the NBA may in fact be a Ginobli type player with a contending team. But when some people say that AB is better than Lin, and that Lin isn't even worthy of being an NBA starting PG, it's just insane talk...

One thing is certain and that's Jeremy Lin is a completely average point guard. Hell he may even be below average.

I think you're confusing number 1 option with number 1 playmaker. Most NBA starting PGs are the main facilitator/playmaker on their teams. PGs, as a position, have the highest Usage Rate of any position. On an average NBA team, Lin would probably get the 3rd most shots in the offense, but would have the highest usage on the team. Currently, Lin's usage rate is more comparable to an average small forward in this offense, a position that rarely facilitates, and generally has the 2nd lowest scoring average on the team, other than freaks of nature like Lebron (who doesn't even really have a set position) and Durant.

Yes, he is currently an average starting PG...however, the PG position has statistically the highest average value of any position in the NBA, so even an average starting PG is worthy of being a top 70-80 player

Don't know how this would work but I had a premonition Lin would be playing for the Lakers.

But why sign and trade Dwight, he is a free agent and drama queen. He's been looking forward to Free Agency for 2 years. He's not going to give up his power to the Laker's FO for nothing. With the new CBA, Lakers can't offer him the extra year anyways.

Man this is becoming no damn annoying with all these so called "Houston Rockets Fan" wanting JLin replaced for PB. Last time it was TD and now PB.

Game 5 was all Asik, Harden and Garcia. PB did ok not great to be consider a deciding factor to the win. Reggie scored 20pt....I would hate to see what Westbrook can do....
PB been great but c'mon now...

Basically, because of the ways the rules have changed over the years, perimeter players have a clear advantage in the freedom they're allowed to attack the offense. The PG is generally the player most skilled when handling the ball, so of course, the PG is gonna dominate the ball more than any other position. With the rules as they are, this would result in the PG being able to more easily penetrate and dish, and play off the PnR with more freedom than in the past. Stats reflect that the PG position in today's NBA has, on average, the greatest influence on team's success (other than a few freak outliers, like Lebron, who is in some ways a PG, and Durant).

Well put, thank you. Jeremy is very capable of running the show. But he can't play with a superstar who needs the ball constantly like Kobe or Melo he needs a couple of elite bigs. not saying he will be able to get in a situation like that but thats would be ideal. Tyson Chandler, Amare in is prime, Dwight Howard. He needs to be put with those guys.

It'll be funny if Morey trades him and it comes back to haunt him again.
