wow, thanks for the link. if you can't breath and catch you wind, you shouldn't be out there. based on this guy's history, he'd popped in his own dislocated shoulder just to play in practice, so i'm sure he's telling everything the trainers want to hear just to get on the court.
Not sure what you're looking for then. Pho and fish sauce is becoming as American as pasta, sushi and tacos. Using your standards, Hip hop isn't a black American culture either since it's not specifically American. It has its roots and influences from African culture.
Dude, how could you even say this? If we somehow do win this series, are you seriously not going to play Lin even if he's healthy for the rest of the playoffs? Because of what, that Bev and Brooks have been doing against Fisher and Jackson? Dont get me wrong, I love Bev I've always thought he was better than Douglas since he got here and he's proven to be quite a player. But come on. He's barely putting up the same numbers as Lin did for all 82 games of the season against OKC's back ups. Some people act as if Bev has been putting up 20 and 10 against Westbrook. If we somehow do get past OKC, we'll be playing either Spurs or Grizzlies. You really think they would be able to sustain this play against them and actually play so well that Lin should just watch from the bench? This is Tony Parker and Mike Conley, two top 10 point guards. We need someone with size to defend them, and more importantly we need some pure scoring and playmaking to combat them, something only Lin can give us at the point guard position. And people like to think Lin being out and Bev playing point is the reason we're winning now. Bev has been good, but the real reason we're winning is because 1. Westbrook is out 2. We're playing more aggresive and solid defense on Durant and 3. Scott Brooks is just not a good coach who can make good adjustments. Just because Lin is out, that doesn't mean we are better off without him, especially not so much as we wont even need him in the second round if we make it that far. The fact is against tough starting caliber point guards you need to compete with that with your own point guard scoring and making plays. I know Bev is good, and Brooks had a good offensive game last game, but the favt is neither can really do that. In 40 minutes Bev had like 1 or 2 assists. He also let Jackson score 20 in the game and 11 in the 4th. He's been good, but he's not the main reason we're winning. Against a tougher backcourt, we'll need Lin more than ever
Fish sauce is as American as pasta? REALLY??? Are you serious??? Certainly wouldn't be looked upon as true by anyone neutral. You're really stretching it here. Hip hop could only come into existence in America because even though it has influences from African culture, it also has influences from Europe.
Just have to respond to your "Who is dumber: The dumbest person in the world or the one who tries to interact with him?" If the dumbest person in the world is the person who interacts with the dumbest person in the world then the dumbest person in the world is no longer the dumbest person in the world since the person interacting him is the dumbest person in the world, but then the interactor is not the dumbest person in the world since he is not interacting with the dumbest person in the world, which again allows the original dumbest person in the world to be the dumbest person in the world, which again means the dumbest person in the world is the guy interacting with the dumbest person in the world.... I can go on forever.
That's true. Then the question is, is this real essential culture of the people or just isolated instances of business/commodity.
They're just ethnic foods. They weren't invented here like hot dogs or apple pie but ethnic foods become a part of American culture over time. Like pizza, gyros, and ramen (AKA the dietary staple of broke college kids nationwide) Campbell's Soup sells pho broth
You're not answering my question there. On the other hand, think deeper, is it good that when people think of Asian American culture, all they think of is Ramen and chow mein?
Honestly who cares! Why can't we all juts look at each other like human beings instead of this Asian, White, Asian-American etc. BS. I am going to pray for an alien invasion, it is the only thing that will get rid of this trivial nonsense. And why are we talking about this on a basketball forum? Good to hear that Lin will only get spot minutes, I'm sure if he does well he will be re-inserted into the starting lineup for round 2 (if there is one), can we all calm down now?
There's also some Ethnocentrism or ethnocentric involved in it. Reverse Racism is also used towards things like Affirmative Action. The examples that Dr. Phil gave is culture clash, or a subculture probably based on ignorance. That happens within other ethnic/racial communities too. <iframe width="590" height="345" src="http://www.youtube.com/embed/glOv4MIyNSE" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe> <iframe width="590" height="345" src="http://www.youtube.com/embed/72rUJLN2Bxw" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe> <iframe width="590" height="345" src="http://www.youtube.com/embed/LSzP9YV3jbc" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>
Noooooooooo don't turn this into a race thread. Here http://bbs.clutchfans.net/showthread.php?t=236536
Dude if Asians are 4% of the US population. How are they gonna have a culture? And why are we even talking about this?
I didn't read the previous post but thought to share another funny one we have a What the Pho here
