I would have enjoyed seeing the guy's face when he heard the cabbie was a US serviceman. Whoops...

Does it matter he was/is a US soldier?

Yeah to me it does. He was not only ****ting on an innocent human being but also someone that served to protect his country.

    does it matter to you?

or does it matter more that he is an innocent American Muslim who was attacked?

It does not matter to me. The guy was attacked, that is what matters. If we start making concessions for military service it begins to sound like we live in a military state (i.e. North Korea).

Curious to know what you mean by "concessions for military service". Does say, the fact that veterans generally have a better priority for jobs, especially federal government jobs, concern you?

At any rate, it matters in further showing the dishonorableness of the deed. The man attacked someone who he viewed as a terrorist, but instead attacked someone who had defended his very country. I'm not saying it should merit any extra jail time or something, but I do definitely think it's more wrong.

What matters to me is that he attacked someone for no reason and purpose other than his own hate and stupidity. Seems like people are saying that it wasn't all that bad until we found out that the victim was a soldier.
