Keep Asik. He has heart, doesn't demand touches, and is an elite defender and rebounder. Almost does everything dwight does minus the higher scoring average but the Rockets aren't lacking in scorers. Plus he has an upside and is evolving. He can be a 16-12 guy.

Solution: acquire a stud PF. F*** Dwight. I live in LA too and people don't have a lot of respect for him. Would you rather have 82 games of Asik giving his all + a double-double or a primadonna dwight for 60 games (he's becoming injury prone) with all the drama and me-first attitude of a spoiled superstar?

Don't forget...chemistry matters. Just ask the Lakers. if Dwight were so great, how come he didn't lead the lakers past the first round? Legit questions these are...

Can Howard defend the Hack-A-Howard? Asik did it and he will continue improve it.

Throughout the season, Asik has gone from 0 points to double digits, and have saw him dropped 2 mid range jumper. Can Howard improve his jump shoot and add a jumper? Absolutely not. That's why Asik > Howard.

Trade Howard and Lin for Aldridge and Lillard. Problem solved.

I don't think Robinson's trade value is that high.

who plays center? I'm guessing Dwight signs as a FA? Or ....

Wouldn't mind LA in Houston but the core of Asik-Harden-parsons (Lin??) is tempting to keep together.

    id rather keep asik.

cheaper, team player, better free throw shooter, and the rebounding and defense is basically almost the same. get josh smith instead.

It's really too bad that we can't see how Asik performs next season, before Dwight becomes an FA.

Asik could easily (read: EASILY) improve his offensive skillset in the offseason. He has plenty of resources (McHale, possibly Hakeem) that he can request.

Have you been living under a rock? They had Darius Morris and Andrew Goudelock starting in the playoffs. That's why they lost. Everyone basically got injured and they were forced to start d league players in the PLAYOFFS.

Personally I am getting tired of these Howard threads. Can we enjoy the post season for a little bit before selling our players off already? The obsession with Howard on this board is amazing.

He has improved leaps and bounds in one year compared to when he barely played in Chicago. His ceiling might not be as high as Howards, but at least he is getting better and is a hell of a lot cheaper. Why put all our eggs in the Dwight basket.

    Use that money elsewhere.

Honestly, I'd like to see us use our cap space on a PG. I think one of our young PFs is going to turn into a star, and I think Asik (with a better backup) is good enough to start on a championship team. Something like, Chris Paul plus Gortat or Robin Lopez, maybe holding the rest of our cap space (if any is left) to take advantage of future deals. Again, assuming one of our young PFs steps up.

Howard and Asik can't play together... at least on the floor simultaneously. If we've learned anything from this series, its that our offense is predicated on spacing the floor. Those 2 guys would cause a logjam in the paint.

About Dwight.... he is obviously a FOLLOWER, while in his mind, he should be a LEADER.

MENTALLY: Anyone that cannot rationally make up their mind about what they want to do with their life, when the choices are as simple as what he was faced with, is a loser. The rest of us have to make serious life decisions about our careers, education, finances, etc, and Dwight is faced with STAY or GO - yet he can't decide for years. How can you expect a guy like that to mentally commit to his career?

PHYSICALLY: He can score, but you'll never run the offense through him. How much can a guy like that be worth? Is it significantly more than a guy like Asik, who is great at playing his game, and is happy to contribute in the ways he is capable, as opposed to thinking you can do and deserve more than what you are actually capable of?

Maybe I need to watch him play more. I'm used to seeing him get spanked by Yao.

Have em both on the floor and you will convert every opponent to a jump shooting team on offense. No one would even dare to try to score inside with those two manning the paint.
