This. The problem is that most people differentiates Lin and Bev via the cost of signing them; that's one reason why Lin gets so much more criticism than Bev, even though in absolute terms, Lin helps the team more as PG, whilst AB is kind of past his prime. However, we have to realise that this cost is sunk and thus must judge both players based truly on their performance alone and their contributions to the team. Currently, Bev is playing crazy good, therefore warrants McHale to ride him out in the play-offs. However, once his performance drops (which it surely will given the law of averages), I think its best for a healthy Lin to return. After all, I still do think that Lin is a better facilitator and a greater contributor to the team than Bev.
there's no questions Lin needs to take AB's minutes! Brooks can make 3 bad plays but one good play and everyone goes wow look at that!! Lin makes 3 good plays and 1 bad play and people freak out. You cant have reggie jackson going off for 20 again and expect to win. Durant will get his, but you gotta hold everyone else down.
Wow, haters all out tonight, let's hope Lin is ready for Fri, PERIOD. One could only hope. (JLin has the worst character of them all apparently) Well I guess people are taking his words too literally. (or he actually meant it?) Again, too literally interpretation; I mean, don't over-generalize (fans of xxx = no good) but it's good to generalize sometimes. You know where You are? You're in the jungle baby!!! You're gonna ... j/k, but, just because some leaders, famous people etc say something doesn't mean everyone would follow; especially the later generations, they forget or they have different agendas. No need to feel so bad when it's not all rosy; don't back down but don't hate back, or it's only going to escalate. Hey, it is what it is, **** happens, be strong, #BeWell and appreciate what we have.
You sound like a crazy person. I love Lin the person, but even a blind man can see we're better off without him. I hope he recovers 100% but I hope he sits the remainder of the playoffs. Harden does better with Bev/Brooks or another impact pure PG this summer
you cant keep playing garcia/bev 40+ minutes..at the very least Lin takes brooks minutes. And with Lin in Bev can focus more on D and not let Reggie Jackson drop 20 again. Good thing Kevin MArtin didnt show up last night.
At this point I'd rather see Lin sit out the rest of this series and just come back next season with a much improved game. Hopefully his ineffectiveness relative to Beverley will motivate him to work his tail off in the summer.
Funny. What I saw were 2 horrendous games, one medicore half of a game, and two victories won without his presence. What did you see?
What happened to "sample size", that argument that so many people tried to use to discredit Lin for so long? Except for the first month, Lin was a big part of the Rockets' excellent regular season. And now, some haters want to use 1 bad playoff game to once again dismiss him from the team.
Even if Lin come back next game, he score 29pts in game6 and then 15 in game7. The Haters will complain he is not consistent. Haters gonna hate.
it's what they do best. and it's easy to pile on the kid since he can't play nor should he if he's injured. But a lot of those posters turn on their team when they're not doing well, so always take it with a truck load of salt. they do get annoying, just as much as the cheer for one player guy.
This. If Lin is not 100%, then he shouldn't play. But I don't get why anyone should HOPE that Lin wouldn't be available. For chemistry sake? Seriously? Brooks hasn't played all season and he contributed. Lin has been our starting PG and he is going to mess up out chemistry? Seriously?
Nah, there was a contingent thinking Lowry would be able to help stabilize the team with his defensive plays and skills. In this situation a large or at least vocal group pretty much wants Lin out for the season thinking he'd hurt it because they think he is trash regardless of what his actual stats this season say in comparison to other non star level PGs. I hope Lin heals up but frankly unless we get to Round 2, I don't see it happening to where he could make a significant impact.
I saw one horrendous game where everyone in the team (except Beverly) played well, one decent game by Lin but then he got injured, and one game where Lin was clearly injured but tried to help his team. I am seeing victories by an awesome Rockets team against an OKC team without their main PG Westbrook.
IF I had a say, I would have Lin sit out the rest of this series and then begin to sit up next series if we get through OKC. That way he doesn't interfere in the rythm and each series begins a new rythm
