Comments and Analysis by coach Nick after Rockets vs OKC game 5. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VsYkhkdqb_E
Yep. But he went back on this a little when answering questions at the end of the video. Q: Who would you keep out of Brooks, Beverley, and Lin? He basically went through each player saying good things then it came to the crunch of saying its really out of Bev and Lin (to start) and finally threw his hands up in the air and said I can decide, aren't Houston lucky to be in this position.
Its an hour video so a bit long for some. Here are the key takeaways: 1) Houston's ICE defence with Asik protecting the rim is awesome. 2) Beverley and Brooks are playing playing the PG position really well. Could Morey ship Lin for some major pieces? 3) Parsons is a lockdown defender. He has an all round game and is likely to be an ALLSTAR 4) If Houston gets Dwight, they will be "prohibitive favourites to win it all" 5) Damn OKC are missing Harden now! 6) Asik and Dwight can play together and make a "formidable front line" 7) Asik can be a 70-75% free throw shooter. He has good form except for a slight hesitation before release. 8) Scott Brooks is a bad coach and hasn't made any adjustments for Westbrook's injury. Houston could win the series. 9) Brooks should have given up on Hack-an-Asik a lot sooner after he started making shots. 10) Houston are the TEAM OF THE FUTURE!!!

Coach Nick is not that good as an analyst, but he is better than those axxholes on ESPN. It's just 1 bad game for Lin, not 3. And he has the record to score 29pts against OKC in regular season. Dragic scored 23pts in 4thQ Playoffs and he was traded next year.
Coach Nick has always been begrudgingly wary of Lin's accolades even during the heyday of Linsanity. It continues.
If Pau Gasol can't play with Howard, how Asik can do this? Coach Nick did hype on the Lakers when they got Nash and Howard. He has a youtube to talk about how they play together. But the fact is, Nash, Howard and Kobe need the ball on their hand a lot. They made each others worse, not better.
I think he said something along the lines of playing them both together for short periods and when Howard sits Asik would take his role so he still would play decent minutes.
A lot of that has to do with the D'Antoni. It's his responsibility to be able to figure how to utilize them best. You need coaches that know how to use big men ala PJ with Bynum and Gasol. However, Gasol is a much better passer than Asik, so, I'd agree that it would be tough to see Howard and Asik in the same line up.
Having Asik AND Howard is pointless. Although Howard's probably a better player, I don't know if its by much. Plus Asik's probably the hardest working big in the game and hits his free throws
omg did you really said that ? cp3 is not a 39 year old steve nash ! And the Lakers with a good coach, a few more complimentary player and injury free would have been a great team, Howard was not the problem. Just imagine Delfino and Beverley in this laker team
I would let Brooks go and keep both Lin and Bev, let them fight it out for starter's minutes. They'll probably both wind up around 25 minutes a game anyway. Still like Brooks, but he's older than the rest of the team and he doesn't play defense.
