Beverly's 3 point shooting must have really improved in the last year or so, look at his career stats in europlay and in college. http://www.euroleague.net/competition/players/showplayer?pcode=001927 His form looks good, I hope his recent perimeter shooting isn't an aberation
I said earlier in this thread that give me beverly and brooks against okc, i still feel that way but i'll agree with this thread title 100%....if next weds is game 1 of the 2nd round
No, I'm fine with you not liking his game. But you mentioned he existed in this team for selling jerseys. You specifically stated selling overseas which easily implied China's market. Oh, I guessed you are not aware he has a Asian looking face do you?
The reason I said the jersey thing is, if Lin gets any significant minutes, whether it be from the injury, his ineffectiveness in this series or the better play of our other PGs, it is purely a front office/business decision. More so the injury is not going to help his average shooting and just to insert him in the rotation prominently can only really hurt the team. I just want what is best for the team. Sorry if you took offense to it.
This is the post that tells me you are a LOF. Brooks had more impact in the couple of minutes the last game than Lin all series...forget all the games he played. Its no mystery that you kept hearing the commentators and TNT crew bring it up over and over again. If you saw the context of his shots, his penetration and keeping the offense going you'll know why Brooks/Bev>>>>>>>>>>>Lin. We put the whooping on OKC in...OKC for christ's sake!
I think Lin should only play if he is 100% healthy and in the second round, that is, if we survive this series. The Brooks/Beverely combo is definitely our competitive advantage over OKC as mentioned by the experts. We can't afford to fix something thats not broken.
Of course, if assuming Lin is not 100% I agrees he should not play next game. If he is ready, then he should start. If he plays bad then the coach would take him out. As simple as that. Mentioning selling jersey is a sensitive topic and you should be well aware of that.
I could not ask for much more from our PG position with Beverley/Brooks! They can even play together effectively!\ WE can afford to let Lin heal fully . . . .
Yea, which would have bode worse for Lin if he was playing. Lin was getting abused by Westbrook's quickness , the AB/Bev combo would still have been more effective.
START?! Do you watch the NFL at all? Look at the 49ers and Kaepernick. You roll with the hot hand and Bev is hot. In a elimination style tourney, I dont want to work a guy back into this rotation, especially starting.
What's Lin's status for game 6? I am a big fan of Lin however I am a Houston Rockets fan first and foremost. I think its better for us to have Beverley and Brooks as our PGs than have Lin come back out of the blue, stone cold with little rhythm and disrupting a great thing we have on right now. Lin does not have the speed to capitalise against the OKC PGs and so I feel like its better for Lin to rest and just roll with what we have going on right now. Lin is just not that good of a player. He is a backup PG at best. I'd hate to see Lin ruin this fantastic series we have going on right now. Not to wish anything bad on Lin, and in fact I hope he makes a great recovery from this injury he is suffering from right now. But I hope we continue for Game 6 with Beverley and Brooks. Our chances of success are greatly improved with that.
Ok man, Westbrook was 3/8, with maybe 2 FTs, on Lin in the 1st game, how is this abusing him? The 2nd game Bev took over his assignment.
Lin shuld play a Manu role off the bench as a superrr sub. Come in and look to score. He wont have to share the ball with James so he'll run the second unit with Carlos, Brooks and Smith.
OKC (w/Westbrook) is a bad matchup for Lin on both ends. Doesn't make him a scrub in my eyes, but it is what it is.
If Lin is healthy he should play but behind Bev and Brooks. The team has won two games without him so I think McHale should stick to the same formula.
