Wish someone like Takashi Miike would direct a Wolverine flick to give some grit to this sterile franchise.
Maybe by then Marvel will have the film rights to Wolverine back. A direct to video animated movie is the best we can hope for at the moment.
Marvel would nail Wolverine. I think. Not sure if it needs to be done in that style or something much darker. IMO Wolverine is at his best when he's done slightly humorously and subdued by other more talkative characters. He's shouldn't be the hero saving babies and kissing bombshells, he's either a supporting character or he should be very dark. It's one or the other, not this Hugh Jackman save the world version. He isn't soft. We got a split second of it in X2 when he starts killing everyone that's trying to invade the mansion. Give me 2hrs of that. Stone cold, remorseless murder. That's Wolverine.
Ok this is on AMC right now. It's bad. Hulk just fought a gigantic poodle, which exploded when he threw it against a tree. And just terrible pacing throughout. I prefer the lame, predictable Ed Norton Hulk to this colossal POS. And my god, all the split screes! Why?????
Watched the trailer again. Seems like they found one of Van Damme's scripts in the trash and extrapolated it into a Wolverine movie.
I could go on a long list on movies that went terrible for trying to merge American with Asian on a sequel. Tmnt. Pirates of the carribean. This one. Fast and furious. Clutchfans
James Mangold has given us wonderful PG13 classics like.... uh... Knight and Day.... Walk the Line... Kate & Leopold.... Girl, Interrupted.... Man this guy sucks. Movie will suck also. I've decided.

This looks so unoriginal, like your typical superhero movie. They need to reboot this already with someone more creative. Zach Snyder would have been the perfect fit if he could make Wolverine like 300.
You can tell plenty from trailers. I agree this looks like total crap. I see no difference between this and the previous wolverine movie. All the shots look exactly the same.
Meh... The minute they hired James Mangold to direct, fresh off that Knight and Day Tom Cruise abortion, I Knew it would be average at best. I was right.
I will say I'm skeptical of this movie and that there are trailers where you can get a good pulse of a movie , but from a pure objective standpoint, there is nothing clear about that " trailer"... And I put that in quotes because its more of a movie mash up than a proper trailer. I damn near had a seizure from the constant flashing from scene to scene There are plenty of reasons to doubt this movie will be good. However this trailer is hardly the definitive deciding factor
This new cut trailer look a little better but the damage already been done. The long scenes look terribly directed, shot and choreograph. Look very amateurish and doesn't look cinematic at all. Look like an expensive version make for a tv movie.
