Had an agency I use in Indy come to Houston for a few days for a strategy session. Made them an itinerary of where to eat. Pretty sure I blew their minds.
I had Christians Tailgate for the first time last week. The Country Fried Bacon Burger was absolutely outstanding.
Nah, because it was based around their hotel area and not a true representation of a legit Ziggy food excursion. The best place I feel that was on their list was Hugo's. They tried Torchy's on their way out - that was their favorite place I think (ha). Rookie palettes.
Funds are funny right now I watch the foods show on tv I'm jealous of texas pig out spots especially dallas wiht those big azz steaks we hav outback texas roadhouse lol
Dallas doesn't have food for ****. I think their official city restaurant is a Carlos Mencia's Mexican Grill.
I wanna take a road trip in the near future to htown to catch a rockets game and try a few burger joints
Actually they have some great restaurants. Unless you are looking for Chinese food...their chinese food sucks
My top 5 favorite (all are Bacon Cheeseburgers, unless otherwise specified): 1. Tookie's Piggyback (aka double Squealer)- Has actually gotten better since it reopened. Burger Nirvana. Wish it wasn't so far away. An hour drive from my house. 2. Christian's Tailgate 3. Beck's Prime - Hickory cheeseburger with cheddar instead of American cheese and add bacon. Pricey but I think Beck's is the most "refined" burger in Houston. 4. Bernie's Burger Bus - Detention. Houston's most over the top burger. Not counting Mel's "Mega Mel Buger" (which is in Tomball anyway). 5. Lankford's - Not as good as it used to be (used to be my number 1) but still good. Honorable mentions: Fuddruckers - maybe it's nostalgia but I still think their burgers are good. Especially since I can dress it myself with over the top sauces. Whataburger (A1 Thick and Hearty) - Best fast food burger, sure Beck's has a drive thru but it is anything but fast. Overrated: Hubcap Grill, Five Guys, The Counter Places I need to try: 1. Stanton's - went here once about six years ago. Was good, but wasn't that impressed. Recently Houstonia magazine said it was the best burger, will try again. The pic on the cover looks so good. 2. Burger Palace 3. Burger Guys 4. Burger Tex 5. Bubba's Texas Burger Shack
