He already has more money than any man could reasonably spend in a lifetime, especially if he is smart and invests a good portion of his money

Its pretty ridiculous how much these guys get paid, I don't know about y'all, but I could live comfortably for life on the pay from one MLE contract.

We know from the past two years that Jarrod Rudolph at RealGM is the personal mouthpiece of Dwight and his team. His new post tonight... is interesting.

I'm really hoping he takes this into account and doesn't get caught up in the and glitz and glamour of LA when making his decision.

If he wants to come here, it's an automatic yes. As stated he does everything Asik does but better. Trading out Asik creates enough room for him. Trading Asik and Lin and renouncing delfino and other non guaranteed contracts creates enough room for him and either cp3 (- stretch) or smith. Honestly, a starting five of Beverly, harden, parsons, smith, and Howard isn't exciting? Bring it.

I don't know about you guys, but I like our chances ALOT. Furthermore, it wouldn't surprise me if Paul leaves LAC if they get knocked out in the first round.

Honestly I think it makes sense for the Rockets to say look, we will sign you to a three year max deal and then once you earn your bird rights another three year deal with max raises, no matter what. If you break your spine in year one, so be it, we will still give you six years of max money.

Howard will only come to other teams through a sign-and-trade. That extra 30M isn't a piece of cake. Lin/Parsons and Asik for Howard will be the only dish that LA would want and I hate losing any of them.

It's blatantly obvious Rudolph is referencing the Rockets in that post. HOWEVER, after being glued to his and Dwight's every move last summer, I really get the sense that Rudolph doesn't too much inside info from Dwight. Sort of like an Adam Schefter. He'll be the first to get the scoop (because Dwight does like him), but it's not like he knows all along what's been going on behind the scenes.

He can't get that extra 30 million in a SnT.

    $118 Lakers
    $87.6 Free Agent
    $87.6 SnT

How are you still so uninformed when this gets talked about literally every day? He cannot get any more money in a S&T than if he were to sign elsewhere outright.

That's you, man... 118M isn't a joke. That, and it's Los Angeles. The glamour, the sparkles, and the MONEY, too few can resist them unless you give them enough incentive. Championship isn't a given even if he comes to Rockets so we can erase that from the list of incentives. If Rockets really want him, a sign-and-trade is the only way to do it.

Chris Palmer says: $118 with the Lakers, $88M elsewhere. Uninformed?

I don't like the idea of Howard having another player whose strength is the interior game, he tends to lose the ball in the chaos of a crowded paint area.

If there was any guy in the nba who needs a stretch 4 more than anything, it's him.

The sign and trade rules have changed. The only incentive for Dwight to pursue a sign and trade is if he wants to go to a team that don't have the cap room for him (and aren't over the apron). He gains nothing from a sign and trade. We wouldn't make a deal with the Lakers for the hell of it.

Players get taxed you know, a lot more in california than they do in texas.

He gets a little more per year in Texas just because of taxes, but has 1 less year.

He also has an accountant, since he's like, freaking rich and has to pay taxes in 20 odd states.

Lol, didn't they say that to Charles Barkley to get him to sign here?

C'mon man, at least be real about it. The gap between howard and asik is as big as the gap from lin and cp3. Howard packed a team to the finals and packed teammates to 50+ wins. Don't fall into that trap bro. Howards worse yr is still going to be a lot better than asiks best yr. There is a huge gap in talent and production.

If the Clippers lose this series after starting 2-0, I wouldn't be surprised to see CP3 leave. This team isn't winning a championship as constructed and no third superstar is walking through the door especially with so much owed to Jordan.

I'm not sure how CP3 / Harden would coexist but a big three with them and Dwight would be dominant. If it is an option there is no chance that those two don't jump on it.

I imagine Howard is still angling to get to Brooklyn and would try and use the Rockets for leverage. Since both the Nets and the Lakers are over the cap, the Nets would have to through in a lot of cap unfriendly contracts to match Howard's cap figure and that would be the deal breaker. The Lakers are going only have one contract beyond next year and they probably don't want to mess with that just to help out Howard. The Rockets are in a better situation for a sign-and-trade, unless Howard wants Atlanta.

Awesome to dream about :p but CP3 ain't leaving. He's already hinted at re-signing there (and trading Bledsoe). More likely scenario if they lose in the first round is Del Negro is let go, CP3 chooses new coach.
