Yeah, thats real easy to say....until it is your stupid thread that gets locked. Then you shoot off emails to the mods demanding to know why they had the gall to lock your thread........when it was no better than the idiot threads started by the guy who doesnt agree with you. Here is a free tip for yall. YOU DONT HAVE TO RESPOND TO OBVIOUSLY STUPID POSTS/THREADS. If you feel it is bad, REPORT IT! Dont start a flamewar because someone offended your sensibilities. oh and ftr OMR....your post was a big bag of stupid. Yeah, people who dont worship Jeremy Lin must be racists. How f-in stupid.

Be nice to be able to read these threads without all the hate and bias showing up in almost every one of the threads. I use to read every thread but now days not so much.
Why do people respond to the dumb threads? How the hell does that ignorant trade Harden for Cousins thread get up to 5 pages? Can't be 5 pages of people telling the OP he's wrong. This place would be much better if WE stop responding to stupid threads and bump up threads with good discussion.
That's a handsome straw man with rolling eyes right there. I guess this would really give the humble pie to irrational posters, especially when it's personally served by a mod.
Just because I said something that is completely opposite of the herd does not meant I ought to get "banned." I still didn't get much counterarguments other than, "you're dumb," "you're an idiot replies." But oh well, sports fans will be sports fans.
Personally, i never wish for anyone to get banned. But you should be accountable for your posts. If the majority disagree with a certain person, more often than not, there's something wrong with that particular individual. It's alright to disagree and engage in friendly debates(what forums are for) but based on what you've been posting/spreading on our boards, it can be considered as flaming and close to trolling the entire CF community. Is it really that hard to focus on the positives and simply trying to enjoy the game and your team rather than always going out of your way to bash on particular players? I'm not saying that you're not allowed to point out their flaws and vent your frustrations but there's a fine line between being a normal critic and a hater. Your posts are leaning towards the latter, to be perfectly honest. My advice, tone it down a bit and refrain from creating threads that you and i know would only cause and start unhealthy and irrelevant debates.
Threads likes these and the many great posts in them make or at least encourage player fans who follow players to a team become fans of the team. There is nothing wrong with following a player. People forget that this is only a game and a team doesn't belong to that city, just talk to Seattle and possibly sac town. Teams aren't public entities, and they aren't funded by tax dollars or by the state.
You're off base, it's the haters who respond to "LOFs" with nastiness, and assign a "LOF" label on anybody who disagrees with them (even if it's not about Lin) who are the problem with this board. Never seen more hatred on here than out of that group of people.
Ignore the mod crap...Im posting as a member...a fan, or am I not allowed to do that since I got that nice fancy title? You may look at it as a strawman, but that is what I see. I see posts crying about racism, and when I look at the offending post all I see is someone being critical of Lin. The few outright racist posts get deleted and the person banned(as long as it is reported so we can see it) but the vast majority of the posts that people are crying about racism are not racist. I detest racists of all types, and it pisses me off to see people post that kind of crap here.....but by an equal measure I detest seeing some folks try to shout down Lin criticism by playing the race card. but why am I bothering...you dont want my perspective, but there it is anyway.
It is like no one wants to talk about the games anymore. The board is filled with meaningless chatter about how Harden sucks (he did last night), how Lin sucks (he does a lot of nights), how McHale sucks. I am so pumped about last night and the performances of Parsons, Beverly, Asik and the rest of the team. Can't get a meaningful post in edgewise. I have never seen it like this, even during YOF era.
What an unbelievably bad post. The criticism toward Lin has nothing to do with his race. Have you seen his play since the Lakers game? You don't think the criticism has anything to do with his game not matching the hype, combined with all the stupidity regurgitated by the Lin stans here?
I just want to read posts where I don't feel a seething anger about the stupidity of the poster. I feel it's the extremist of the LOH and LOF that brings nothing to this site but insults and personal attacks. Honestly a new policy should be implemented. Although I don't like total dictatorship, The mods at Knicks forum put a ban on all thing lin and honestly, it's nice to read posts without becoming angry.
We need senless threads because we all live in separate tunnel realities, and what you consider senseless may be a diamond in disguise...it may be the very thing you need...
I can be critical of Lin, but man, there is definitely a contingent that pours it on here. The guy didn't even play last night, but when players were screwing up, you see things like, 'he's channeling Lin on that' as if the guy is some standard of failure. Then, they turn around and complain about people bringing up Lin in the game thread. That's not just critical, that's baiting. I wish stuff like that would be cracked down on, not because it's racist, but it's pure baiting and it just adds to the incivility here. There's this idea that it's a dichotomy, that there's only two camps--'Rockets fans' and '------only fans'--when in reality, there's probably a wide range of interests and perspectives on this board. And, it would be nice to be able to talk Rockets basketball without having to traverse the minefield of bait posts. And yes, I do use the ignore function as much as I can, but it's getting uglier these days.
