Even if Lin is ready to play, he for sure should come off the bench. The chemistry that the rockets are playing with right now is obviously giving okc problems. I know some of you think he should start due to his history in the last 2 months of play, but this is an elimination playoff game. We were close 1 game and actually won another with the lineup that mchale has been throwing out there. Keep the starting lineup the way its been the last 2 games and bring Lin off the bench.
JLin is better player when not paired with Harden. Our idiotic offense takes JLin out of his game and puts the ball in Harden's hand. BUT I HATE HARDEN'S LACK OF EFFORT ON D. If we are going to kill Jlin we should kill Harden's lack of D
I totally agree with the above. Parsons was the key to our great ball movement as evidenced by his assist numbers. Beverley played 37 min and only had 3 assists. Come on guys, Lin gets reamed for not averaging 7 assts a game but Beverley is anointed as the heir apparent starting PG after a 3 assist effort? I just don't see it.
Two playoffs in a row, Jeremy had to sit out due to injuries. Not sure how any of you could be comfortable with that, especially given our injury history in the T-Mac Yao era. Beverley is also showing what he's about when it counts most. Dude is putting up Kyle Lowry-like numbers in the playoffs, and that DEFENSE.
Totally agree, would rep if I could. Lin does run the offense well, but when his confidence is down, or he make stupid mistakes it really gets me pissed. His first year as a starter, can't really come down on him too hard, and hes got better numbers then a lot of great players did in their first year. Not saying he's going to become the next nash, or parker, just saying Lin is showing promise. This next year is going to be a huge indicator. When Harden was injured and not playing some games, Lin showed he can put up decent numbers and run the offense to help win. There were some games that he played awful, but everyone on clutchfans have seen his potential. Another indicator was the first two or three games in which Harden basically played off ball and dropped over 40 points while Lin put up double doubles and almost a triple double that game against the Hawks. They had no gameplan, Harden just arrived, AND LIN was running the offense. Then his struggles all of a sudden kicked in and people questioned why Harden was handling the ball of a sudden a lot.
This is not a kill J Lin, thread. It's a how do you feel about Jeremy Lin thread after his first full season. If you look up at the poll. Comfortable has a big lead over Uncomfortable. Just because you see a title that questions J Lin does not mean it is a hate thread. If you look at clutchfans you will see several threads questioning Harden's ability also.
The point is that if you have players like Harden and Parsons. Do you need an assist first pg or do you need a spot up shooter. Some people simply like beverly more than J Lin. He doesn't play scared. Other people love J Lin because of how he can get to the basket. But are either of them what parsons and harden need on the future Rockets?
Remember that game when Beverley had 0 points yet people were screaming that he now should be the starter? The double standards are staggering.
He needs to learn how to play with Harden or come off the bench and be the man for e second unit. None of this is likely to happen due to lin or coaching
Lin also showed he could handle more responsibilities during the Linsanity run. Granted, it's still a small sample size and I shouldn't have said "proved", but it's a trend that's been confirmed when Lin's had the opportunity to do so.
Translation: "I've said something dumb and a bunch of people have jumped on me for it, so I'm gonna try to surrender with some semblance of dignity by resorting to an ad hominem attack that childishly denigrates the sexual attractiveness of my opponent."
To make myself clear, I don't want this to be a thread like all the other threads where people attack each other. Do not harass people in this thread. People are not always going to agree with you, that is life. GET OVER IT. Man up and grow up. KINDLY MAKE YOUR WAY OUT.
I think the frustration that Lin supporters have is that the reasons for hating Lin seem to change by the month: combo guard scores but turns ball over, then after improving his TOs, doesn't shoot well, then after improving his shot throughout the season, don't need an assist first PG to play with Harden. Now the criticism has come down to observations that can't be quantified: weak, timid, scared, etc. Truth is, some people, not necessarily you, will just hate him even if he becomes a hall of famer (not saying he will). I really don't understand the "Rockets fans" pleasure in seeing him fail, because the TEAM does well when he does well. Sure, the team won a game without him, but the team has also won without Harden and Parsons. Fact.
I honestly think we just need an allstar/superstar PF and then I'll see how Lin performs. Lin loves doing PnRs like he did with Tyson Chandler back when he was in NY. Asik isn't that great offensively yet so it might be what's keeping Lin from excelling w/o a talented offensive big. If Lin still underperforms after we get said PF, I say trade him.
I dont see anyone getting pleasure out of Jeremy Lin failing, in this thread. I do see people giving honest opinions about whether or not they want him to be the future of this team. I hear all this talk about how Lin Haters are so mean but from my experience in the thread the biggest bullies are Lin fans. Lin fans try to suppress freedom of speech. KEEP IN MIND THAT I AM A LIN FAN. I just think that he should have his own team. This is America people have the right to their opinion. This thread was kind of a test for me. A. Can we have a thread where people honestly express how they feel about Jeremy Lin (good/bad) without hating on him. B. Can we have a thread where people honestly express how they feel about Jeremy Lin (good/bad) without being attacked. So far I have not had any problems with the so called Lin Haters attacking people. It has only been other Lin Fans. I wanted to try to understand why this board is the way it is now and I think I have my answer. There is an inability for other Lin Fans to let someone voice their honest opinion about Jeremy Lin.
In my experience its the haters that use non-basketball reasons for why we should trade him (mentally weak) or why we can't (too much money coming in from china). You can't have a rational discussion with that. And to be fair, there are plenty of people who will tell you to gtfo with the slightest mention of the inefficiency of Harden isos.
My point is where are those people in this thread? ther ehas plenty of talk in this thread about Harden's poor defense but I have had no problems with those people being harassed or attacked. In this thread you can voice your opinions about the future of the Rockets and there has been plenty of people who lve lin and want to see harden gone, just look at the poll!! but no atacks on thos people.
