I dont remember the exact quote, but he basically said he wanted to set the tone to start the game by being aggressive. Then, he said he was going to do it every game going forward (post game). It is interesting to hear this from our second year guy and not from the star of the team. Good to hear it, but should it come to that? Or should it not matter who says/does it?
This team needs a passionate firebrand leader/veteran.... Garcia....Beverly now Parsons/harden need to step up
I don't think it matters I'm just glad he did it. He carried this team at times tonight and as a Rockets fan I'm very happy, this is the best season in years we have a lot to look forward to.
Looks like Garcia is the leader of this young group. Harden is the go to guy but does not have the personality of a leader - yet.
I wish everyone would step up vocally like Parsons/Garcia do, the guys are so quiet! http://www.nba.com/video/channels/playoffs/2013/04/30/0041200144-hou-harden-parsons-postgame.nba Btw, anyone understand what joke Harden said about Parsons at 2:13?
Lost in all the Harden bashing is the magnificent performance by Parsons. His stock went way up last night. Since his rookie year which was outstanding, he has gotten better and better. Very excited to have him as a Rocket.
You really have to appreciate Parson's leadership and infectious fire. In the game before last night he was trying very hard to do the same thing with lots of driving to the hoop but was routinley failing to convert very contested layups. I almost felt sorry for him, trying to be the guy but without enough talent to back up the good ideas. I'll be damned as last night he did the same thing and this time he converted. He won't be able to do it every night, but what a game and he is definitely one if not the main leader. I think he will be playing way into his thirties.
Tone Set. Parsons has already grown a lot each season. I expect that trend to continue. He definately a go-to-guy. He has just enough tools in his game to be a wingman. I wouldn't have said that in the pre-season. I figured him for the bench as a sixth man. But I believe it now.
I wonder who Parsons will be traded for? Too good of an asset with his cheap contract for Morey not to trade him. We'll miss you Chandler.
