I didn't say he should stfu. He should say what he wants. And people can be free to disagree with him. Or should people who disagree with him stfu? And yet you're hot and bothered about Jason Collins making a statement that he's gay.
Broussard made a great point, although I disagree with his stance. Christians love to tell people that homosexuality is wrong, but they continue having premarital sex and ignoring the other restrictions of Christianity. Since when did Christianity become an "a la carte" religion where you get to pick and choose which laws you want to follow? Broussard made an effort to point out that he not only disagrees with homosexuality, but also premarital sex--a common "sin" among athletes today.
I'll just get this out of the way. Go ahead and make yourselves feel better about calling it a 'disagreement.'
So now youve brought the noise level back down to "disagree" instead of "intolerance". Ill settle for that
I assume Broussard is also against gay marriage. In which case, I guess he feels homosexuals should abstain from sex for life?
Yes because being black is absolutely the same as being born gay (depending on whatever scientists decide is the right research to go on for now). Thats a disservice to blacks in general.
It's true. When I brought up the doubt that Jesus may be gay, all my christen friends who claimed they support gay right got all defensive like there's something wrong with being gay.
I was born catholic and really dislike religion. Religion has been the cause for war and still is. People relying and living their life on a book that was wrote thousands of years ago literally, when it wasn't even wrote by Jesus. Let me ask you, what's wrong with allowing gay people be gay or allowing them to get married and let them live their life? Besides the whole Jesus tells us it's wrong gig. What other reasons do you have?
Way to misconstrue my comment. Ignorance is ignorance. The only variance depends on which side of the debate you are on. You sir, have already made your position felt.
Most probably, which is definitely something I disagree with him about. I just wanted to point out that his statements are something that many other Christians I've met tend to ignore; they reject homosexuality but accept premarital sex as if it's ok in their religion. It's just hypocrisy on their part. Broussard, I think, was trying to get at the fact that Collins shouldn't call himself a Christian because he's not living according to the Bible, which is stupid.
Lol. There were gays in the 50s also right? I didnt misconstrue anything. You used the black analogy for the very reason that we both know you did.
Paul writes in I Corinthians 6:9-11, "Know you not that the unrighteous shall not inherit the Kingdom of God? Be not deceived, neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor effeminate, nor abusers of themselves with mankind, nor thieves, nor covetous, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor extortioners shall inherit the Kingdom of God".
That's right. Morality as whole is very subjective and there's no right or wrong. If a person is attracted to children then so be it as long as they don't go out and victimize minors. It's illegal because fantasy and urges can easily be the cause of actions for a lot of people. An adult gay couple having consensus sex doesn't hurt anyone so I don't see why their sexuality is considered "wrong".
Judging by sports radio callers in Chicago, I would say you are wrong. The last three hours have been callers ripping Collins, gays, etc. Even the guests seemed uncomfortable, the guy that runs a scouting site actually compared being gay to eatting pickled pig feet and said gays are more likley to get AIDS.
