cmon man, it's one guy expressing what may or may not be disapproval. How many articles will be written in support of him? How many tweets will be in support of him?
Did he tell everyone to not ever think about it again? Or are you just fighting against an argument nobody is making?
As a Christian I agree with what Broussard said but I can see why it can come off as distasteful or hatred. I have gay friends, I dont approve of what they do in their private life but that doesn't mean I dont treat them any less of a human being. We still go play ball, go to the movies or hang out with our other friends, we just avoid the sensitive topic
I don't know. I was merely referring to the part of your post, which I bolded for your convenience in my reply.
It'll be interesting to watch the fallout. Broussard is an idiot for his comments, but the thing is, it didn't come out of left field. He's made similar comments before. He promotes a social group called the "K.I.N.G. Movement" constantly. He wrote this about John Amaechi a few years ago: http://holyculture.net/blog/2009/04/04/my-take-on-john-amaechi-by-chris-broussard/ I don't think it's a coincidence that ESPN brought him on and he said these things. ESPN knew exactly what he would say when they identified him as a panelist for today's OTL. So if there's going to be discipline, I think the first in line to receive will be the show's producer for bringing him on.
To paraphrase Broussard, engaging in homosexual acts, or premarital heterosexual acts, or adultery, is sinful unchristian behavior as defined by The Bible. Engaging in unrepentant sin is rebelling against God.
Everything that follows this opener can always be safely disregarded, and most of the time -- ridiculed.
Sure, there will be plenty of supportive articles written by a press-core that's mostly liberal on social issues. But among his co-workers in the NBA? I suspect there will/would be a number of people, like Jackson, looking down on him.
So who'll be the first player to admit he is in relationship with animal? Will he get such a support too? Let's be real here, Mark Jackson and Chris Broussard are right.
dude, you cant be serious. In the eyes of God, being an active homosexual is no different than someone who tells a white lie. In a sense, we're all homosexuals.
