Awesomer and awesomer.. But, has anyone put forth the reason why there are two pilots? I am sure there is an explanation, but the trailers are not sharing..
Each controls half the body I guess? No clue why you'd need more than 1, but I'm sure they'll explain that in the movie.
Practical guess: so the pilots are not by themselves in the jaeger and have someone to talk to for movie audiences. Storyline guess: Maybe because the machines are so massive and complex, it would be too overwhelming for one mind to control?
Saw the trailer in 3D at the midnight showing of the new Star Trek last night, and all I can say is wow! Looks highly entertaining. Probably won't make a hell of a lot of sense, plot wise, but who cares? I see it as a fun roller coaster ride kind of movie. Grab the popcorn and suspend belief! I love that sort of flick, if it's well done.
^ Thanks for that. Makes me want to go see Star Trek. Still weak, in my opinion. A predictable plot line I think will happen is that the two dudes (or girls) inside the machine will have a SwoLy-D'esque type of argument... and one of them will die inside.
Inside Look on the dual pilots and "Drift Space." Pretty much what I thought; the robot is too big for one pilot to control it alone. http://www.ign.com/videos/2013/05/21/pacific-rim-drift-space-featurette
