If Collins isn't playing next season (likely because of lack of skills and being 34 rather than being gay), I am pretty sure he will be fine career-wise, will likely get a (non-playing) job offer from the NBA itself or from a team. Went to Stanford, friends with Congressman Joe Kennedy and Chelsea Clinton. Doubt that he's one of these guys whose lives fall apart once they stop playing.
In a identical twin situation, if Jason is gay then there is a HIGHER chance that Jarron is also gay. Compared to any regular guy, its more likely that Jarron is gay because we know his identical twin is gay, but it's not a certainty.
Given the fact that he has sucked for the last 5 years and that hes 34, im pretty sure noone was going to sign him to begin with. Too old for everyone, too young for the knicks. I eagerly await an athlete to put forth a statement that he enjoys the vagina as much as collins enjoys the butthole. Im looking at you richard jefferson.
good for him, i'm sure most players would accept it but there will always be a few who will be against it
The article is really well-written (except for one "then" instead of "than" mistake which the editor missed). If he wrote that himself, he is very articulate. I am 100 % sure he is not the only gay player in the NBA. There are several that definitely seem to be gay as well, even one on the Rockets.
He wont since hes a smart guy from stanford hut reading some of the posts in this thread, its pretty obvious other people will.
reading all the ignorant comments on the internet (not here) reminds me of how far society still has to go as far as accepting people for who they are. one comment that makes me laugh is all those who use the old "who cares, I don't need to come out as straight" routine. coming out doesn't change the person- it frees them from hiding from who they are. it's up to society to accept that person for who they really are- they are the same person as they were the day before, the only thing different is the public's awareness and knowledge of their sexuality... it's a big deal because not one active NBA player in history has ever had the guts to do this and will obviously pave the way for more to feel comfortable doing it, and eventually it won't really matter to the other athletes or the general public. that being said, dude is NBA scrub.
Stanford graduate + knows Kennedy + knows Clinton + first publicly gay player in big 4 sports basically guarantees him a cushy gig somewhere.
This is repulsive! We need to keep the 7 foot genes circulating in the gene pool! Spoiler But on a srs note gratz
Are the people questioning 'who cares' really oblivious to the issues gay people still have today? Especially in pro sports?
