that airball was sad. but he did made a great pass to asik who couldnt finish the play.
i am sure if given minutes brooks and start to get more comfortable he can be a decent asset on offense, the problem is his defense, thats something he will never make a difference.

Brent Barry is on board...basically said McHale isn't familiar enough with Brooks to trust him, but brooks is playoff proven.

Brooks' airball was bad, but he should not have been playing that way to begin with. McHale has to lengthen the leash, otherwise any player is going to play uncomfortably. He basically had Brooks iso on that play. They need to play him in Lin's role, not Harden's.

He didn't play enough to get a good grasp on how he'd perform. 2 good plays (pass to Asik and a strip) and 2 bad ones. (airball and i think he turned it over too?)

AB is in a tough situation. McHale couldn't spare the minutes for him at the end of the season to try to acclimate himself to other players and the "system" because of fighting for playoff position. (Although, it could be argued the Rockets might have thought they matched up better with OKC rather than the Spurs.)

Brooks just needs some confidence. The first trade of a player, no doubt, tests his "head." How he gets confidence back and also "fits in" is hard to say. Just having a few good minutes on the court -- especially during a playoff game -- might not be enough for a sustained performance over several games. It's just too bad he couldn't have had the opportunity to get minutes with the starters before now. Hopefully, he is getting more minutes in the practices before Saturday's game, with Lin's availability unsure. His performance against LA in the playoffs was no fluke. He is somewhat of a specialist, but if/when he feels comfortable, with his speed, he can wreak havoc in almost any defense. Just ask Phil Jackson. And, once he's comfortable he can hit clutch 3's. He's demonstrated that, too.

Maybe he'll adjust beyond what the circumstances would indicate. I'm rooting for him and the Rockets. The second game teases us into thinking... just maybe... they can steal someone's thunder. ;)

    1 shot?

Are you totally forgetting he was the one that gave us that huge momentum push to bridge that hole?

Its hilarious how fans will cling to Lin or Beverly's balls but will hate on AB for one play.

I'll take Brooks over an ineffective, grimacing Lin.

True - he did ask Harden if his leg was OK after the rockets cluster****ed their way through the final minute.

    Major props to AB!

I'd think its part some "ANTI-{Other Posters}" sentiment there

Brooks did what he had to do. Comparable to what Beverley did in limited minutes (on the offensive end)

Don't hate on SmellyFisher. He doesn't have any balls of his own. He has to cling to someones.

I haven't said anything negative about Lin this whole season, but he is average when he is healthy. So a hurt Lin should not even sniff the court. I haven't been critical of Mchale neither, but I'm growing tired as many others are. Sit Lin please, if he is hurt....

Sorry sweetheart - I'm otherwise hard pressed to appreciate his contribution to the failed second half comeback... considering he didn't play a single goddamed minute in the second half, genius.

He doesn't have +9 for no reason. He was in during a big comeback in either the 2nd quarter or 3rd, I forget.

He is not the hero we deserve, but the hero we don't need.

Brooks was good yesterday. Needs more minutes. Shouldn't have played Lin at all.

You could see AB was getting into his groove in the 2nd qtr. McHale should have used him again in the 2nd half.

But we're used to McHale's wtf rotations?
