Best burger joint in Houston?

P.O.'s in Cypress. Ya'll don't know what you are missing. They are nasty good.

 

just had a surprisingly good "spicy" burger at Tornado Burger in Stafford.

 

I just got a Bacon Cheeseburger with grilled onions and BBQ sauce from Miller's on Shepherd.

Wasn't quite as good as I remembered it, but still delivered.

 

I've heard good things about Christian's Tailgate... been meaning to go there.

Miller's is decent. Been to Ravnovski's... meh...

Beck's Prime is great for a chain.

Best burger, surprisingly... Burger Tex, great chain owned by Koreans and they KNOW what's up. Damn good burger

 

Fudruckers sucks

 

This! I went there for lunch yesterday and ate way too much but it was good!

 

I like the "I've been to all the houston institutions but haven't found an impressive burger" bit then go on to say fudruckers is their favorite.

Becks and pappas don't get nearly enough love, probably bc theyre chains (sorta) and relatively expensive (definitely), but they make a mean burger. The cliffs on fountain view is easily one of my favorites as well but IMO the best burger in houston belongs to bernies... Along w the best chili fries.

I can agree. Burger Tex is up there with the best. I don't think they have a website but Google will help you find locations.

I like Fuddruckers, since I stopped going to the mom n pops, Fuddruckers has been the best. However my reference is Whataburger/Wendy's.

Huge one pounders with a chocolate shake... can't go wrong with that. I eat it with a boner.

 

Treated my mom to Fuddruckers today. The new koby burger is pretty dam good. I roll with the strawberry shake. Next table had nachos and a chicken salad that looked good.

 

You sound like a great son. Fuddrucker's? What a treat!

 

This doesn't technically count as a burger, but I think their ribeye sandwich is the greatest food item I've ever received from a drive-thru window.

There's kind of a weird dichotomy- as with any too popular chain that has a reputation of being erroneously considered "the best" among rubes, you're almost not allowed to like fudruckers for what it is. Meanwhile you get less backlash it seems when you praise some lower quality fast food burger chains in particular, which get a pass. Despite the analogies I would still rank f.r.'s higher among your average burger place than I would red lobster or olive garden among seafood & italian respectively. Consistency of product, hours, price, menu etc. across locations that you get with chains is something I value, but when ranking things, obscurity always gets you more bonus points.

 

Yeah that spicy burger has some kick to it. For a fast food place it's pretty good.

 

I feel like I'm always posting in a burger thread. Didn't we already have this one? Anyways, for me - Petrol Station, Burger Guys, Bernies Burger Bus.

 

As an aside, if you visit College Station, try Koppe Bridge. Outstanding hamburgers. I like them as much as I like Christian's Tailgate.

 

I have no issue with Fudrucker's. If I had a choice, I would choose P.O.'s everyday but certainly wouldn't be disappointed having to go to Fudrucker's. They make a very good hamburger.

They are definitely better than Red Robin.
