i voted spurs in five... but i guess this will go to 4 games. So its golden state or memphis on next round for san antonio right?
now that Kobe ruined the whole season for lakers and shape of all players by playing heroball allseason long, saying : 'dont you see now that Lakers are better with Kobe' is circular reasoning at its best.... hehehe :grin:They would be better -a lot better -without Kobe were Kobe gave them the chance to PRACTICE AND GET SOME PLAYING TIME TOGETHER playing in such a way, without being terrorized, demoralized and constantly disengaged and taken out of rhytm by his volume chucking shooting...
Omg do you seriously think the Lakers would have won with Kobe? Their entire guard rotation was two D league players! Yeah, they prob would have only lost by 20 if Kobe played here but this isn't what I was trying to argue. All I wanted to do was see the team from the last two games of the season, plus maybe somewhat healthy Nash, get a few games in against the Spurs. I thought they could have won the home games giving them a shot at the upset... although after seeing how fluid the Spurs look, now I doubt it. But let's not apply revisionist history here... this team had no chance with Kobe, especially with that backcourt. This is a worse squad than the teams that got obliterated (with Kobe) the last two years.
I said the Lakers wouldn't win with or without Kobe long ago. Then I also said they were guaranteed not to win more than two playoffs games and would bet anybody on here that. Remember it was the bet you said you would have taken if not for some other member named Yawoza or something like that? You were hyping the hell out of this team post Kobe when they beat the Spurs and Rockets with the same roster. Let me guess, Blake and Meeks are the huge difference makers that create that great ball movement and interior D.
I said the Lakers were better without Kobe and I stand by it. But you can't win without a backcourt. Obviously adding Kobe to a team starting Morris will improve it. Also, the Spurs are a lot better than I thought. In retrospect, you were correct that this team would not have won two from the Spurs in any circumstance. I would like to have seen them get some home hames with the team they fielded to close the season though.
