Same boat as Parsons: Not an elite player but well above average skills plus SUPER CHEAP contract make him valuable, especially for a team like HOU trying to maintain its cap flexibility.

Available, but this team can use him, too. Hopefully Morey doesn't screw up and trade him for a lotto bust.

I didn't realize we had Beverley for 3 years. That's incredible.

Harden and Parsons are untouchable but Beverley is starting to make a case for himself.

He's not going to be traded unless we get a superstar.

It's his level of play plus his contract.

In other words we aren't going to get equal value if we trade Beverley in the next 2 years.

It's nice to see that Beverley has elevated his stock, shows he's making a significant contribution. A lot of teams will be interested in him. Morey will play his cards accordingly.

What is beverley's deal? Isn't it 3 years? Is that including this year?

If it includes this year, then he'll be a FA with Lin, right? that's going to be tough...because he could end up being the better of the two and we'll have to pay more.

If it's 3 years after this season, we'll, bye bye Lin. Morey always trades down to the cheaper deal, if talent is similar or better.

he'll shop Lin wayyyy before he shops BEV. for two reasons.

    1. Lin and Bev are very comparable as far as skill level goes. and BEV could arguably start over lin next season if the roster stayed the same.

    2. We wont get much for BEV if we were to shop him around, he's playing for what hes worth right now and probably more. the smart decision would be to keep him. Lin is worth more than he actually should be because of his market he could bring to another city, assuming a city with a high asian market would want him. So we could get more money/a much better player for him.

No team wants the PG who broke Russel Westbrook.

I would rather keep Beverly than Lin. Beverly has definitely been more consistent (despite the limited time he plays) than Lin.

After Parsons, Beverley is the 2nd best trade asset that the team has.

    Dirt cheap and can start.

If you think Bev is more valuable than Lin for a team, then you don't know basketball. Bev is not a true PG. He cannot see the court and direct traffice like Lin. Did you remembered how the team played when both Lin and Harden were bench? They were clueless. A good PG will able to direct the offense.

Of course, if Houston decided to keep McHale long term, Bev will be better fit than Lin. McHale run a Harden central system (or lack of it) and does not like another star. Mchale will continue play Harden 40+ minutes a game with his 4 other sidekicks. Of course, Rocket will never win a championship with McHale.

Lin and Bev complement each other and I love when they're on the court at the same time.

That said, during pre-Feb. trade discussions, I recall another poster advising to not get too attached to any one player.

As long as Morey can package "wacko" Royce White with the trade, I'm good. However we must get a star player in return, no Paul Milsap or Josh Smith. Kevin Love or Lamarcus Aldridge.

Unless we manage to get one of the elite PGs, ANY coach we have will run a Harden central system.
