Like the other person said, you have a bunch of people sitting there and not leaving. You know that water is nasty.

I didn't mean to come off as argumentative..not interested in convincing you to hang out at a specific bar. :)

Also, the bar isn't just in the water. The bar has a dry side with long seats and firepits. I never utilized that bar from the water side.

Get a place on the west side of the island. Much less crowded and more peaceful. Better beaches too.

Get a burger at the Blue Water Grill, then drive east back towards civilization and have some drinks at The Spot. Then hit The Strand. It's no French Quarter, but any place that lets you walk around the street drink-in-hand is okay by me.

Then go back to your place on the West side, sit on the beach and watch the sun set.

I'm with this entirely...West side or Tiki Island.

But he's just going for the day.

If you go to Galveston, going to La King's ought to be mandatory. Their salt water taffy is madein site and is addictive. Anytime I go there, I spend at least $20 on taffy, which then lasts for about two weeks.

I also like Bennos by the Bay. My father has told me that he really likes the Original Mexican Restaurant.

I go to Bennos for seafood.

    Original Mexican is pretty good.

M&M is pretty fancy place to go near the strand.
