Great pick. He's undersized, but packs a serious punch... reminds me of Bob Sanders. He's a vicious hitter, and will contribute immediately on special teams.
He's got a mixtape everybody <blockquote class="twitter-tweet"><p>STOP DOWNLOAD ME AND G MIXTAPE NOW!!!!!!! @<a href="https://twitter.com/beng803">beng803</a> & @<a href="https://twitter.com/jungleboi_swagg">jungleboi_swagg</a>- "A League Of Our Own"<a href="http://t.co/9HSSZtcu6c" title="http://piff.me/015fd6d">piff.me/015fd6d</a></p>— DJ Swearinger (@JungleBoi_Swagg) <a href="https://twitter.com/JungleBoi_Swagg/status/327808469442908161">April 26, 2013</a></blockquote> <script async src="//platform.twitter.com/widgets.js" charset="utf-8"></script>
We couldn't have drafted this guy or another safety in the third round and filled a need somewhere else where a higher rated player was available?
I don't know if he's a Vance Joseph type, but the Texans like to run a 3 safety sub set and they basically use the 3rd safety like a linebacker. This is why Keo got so much time last year, but bizarrely he was playing back with Manning while Quin was the linebacker. Hopefully this kid can play up with Reed and Manning back.
SEC player! They say he's a ball hawk and has great instincts. His mentor will be Ed Reed..... This is a good pick all things considered because the LB they wanted was not there for them.
I mean, better to have a "mentor" than not I guess, but playing behind a great player doesn't somehow make you one.
Solid pickup. Now ILB and OL in the third to call it a night. So mad Alonso is gone, he'd be perfect for this team

Recap of Wade: Can play FS or SS, very athletic and versatile Smart, tough and aggressive Big hitter, has good range. Can play FS or SS in the box. Fits in to our sub package, can play over the tight end and play the run. Play that sub package at least 50% of the time so it's like another starter. (told you guys! ) On Ed Reed's: Outstanding veteran players, hope some of it rubs off. Little things like learning to be a pro and settling in to the first year. On not getting the first round pick: I was all for the guy we took. Whatever's best for the team. Hopkins going to be great. More they score on offense the better for us.
On his highlights the best part was his energy and ability to handle the opposing team jukes. Very decisive in the field...best part
Games don't really seem to match well. Swearinger should be a capable replacement for Quin, but I don't love a S with our 2nd when we've got more pressing issues. I went into the night hoping we might trade up, and we really should have. A lot of pressure on our two 3rd round selections now. Draft's not over, but.... Baltimore really chafed our rear end snatching Brown away.
The Texans use their 3rd safety probably as much as their second ILB. I've been trying to tell you guys this. Wade wants a 3 safety sub package on the field over 50% of the defensive snaps. Who would you rather replace, Dobbins/Sharpton or Pleasant/Keo or Earl Mitchell if we stipulate that they all get somewhat equal time? To me the weakest link is Pleasant/Keo.
