One thing I remember reading a while back is that Wade Phillips has a strong preference for taller/bigger guys to play inside backer in his scheme, Brady James (from back in his Dallas days) at 6'2" being the reference average height for a "big middle linebacker". Just looking over the list of who is available, there aren't too many who fit that description, so he may not have that option, but I presume it is a reference point when he starts looking at the options. He's also not keen on the 350 pound lumbering immovable mound of flesh that you see as the prototypical 3/4 NT. So guys like John Jenkins, who you might think would be what he is looking for, may actually be passed over for someone lighter and quicker. The Texans have a pretty strong track record of going for jroject/odd-ball types. Off the top of my head, Barwin, Casey, Earl Mitchell, Duane Brown... the list of guys with a serious lack of experience at their position is consistent enough to be more than just dumb luck. Granted, all of those guys were playing football (though at another position) but nevertheless, they seem to be big fans of drafting top athletes who are projects at their position, which is pretty much the exact description of Hunt. He doesn't fit an exact need, and he may not be around when they draft next, but all things considered, Hunt is exactly the type of player they'd love at Reliant, and they've had pretty good success with those types.
No, No, and No...the Texans will go defense My guess may go CB and transplant him to learn FS in David Amerson...I really think this is where the Texans are going...unless someone ahead will go get him... I really dont like much of the QB selections this year...if anything may use with a supplemental pick later on...
I wouldn't. Texans fans shouldn't be so eager to rid of Schaub that they're like the desperate guy at the bar, willing to take home the first slutty girl that says yes. This is a weak QB class and I really don't have any confidence any of 'em will do anything the league.
Are you a slutty girl? WOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!! j/k Not directed at anybody. If you made a comment, I didn't see it or didn't make note of who said it. I just see people throw every possible name out there as a Schaub replacement, most of whom have no chance of doing a better job. I get the Schaub hate and the desire for a replacement, but an "anybody else is better than Schaub" philosophy is not the way to go. The Texans do need to make some move, but it probably won't be this year and besides, this isn't the draft to do it in.
