Lin completely becomes a shooting guard / spot up shooter on last game. Beverley handles the ball all the time.
Lin has progressed well this season, adapted decently to his new role alongside harden, and has shown flashes of the dominant PG he can be, hes just inconsistent, which isnt uncommon for someone with his level of experience. Now people are calling for his head cause he got blitzed in his debut playoff game in a hostile environment, against a championship contending team. Just take a step back, take a deep breath, and relax. One game doesnt make or break a player.
Anyone listen to the BS Report yesterday with Jalen Rose? They talked a minute or two on our PG situation. Both seemed to agree that Beverley has clearly outplayed Lin so far this series and Jalen went as far as to say he thinks Lin will be shopped this summer because of the way Patrick has shown he can play. Not sure how I feel about the situation yet, nor do I take what these 2 guys have to say as gospel, just interesting to hear what a couple outsiders looking in have to say.
Depends what we get in return. But also doesn't make sense why having TWO solid PGs is a bad thing...
we're gonna use our cap space on a big, preferably dwight (yes I want dwight now) and then trade asik for a PF sign an MLE bench contributor
MLE backup PG who would earn or more than our starting PG Beverley? What would that do to locker room chemistry??
if lin has no potential, what would want him with that 8 mil a year pay day? If I'm another gm, i'd want the guy who has 'outplayed' lin all season, who happens to have a GREAT contract. If anything, you'd get more in a trade if you include Bev. but some posters are just pathetic, what is wrong with having the 2 of them? both can keep each other sharp, even run the 3 guard line up during crunch time.
Having two solid PGs is good but right now we have only one PG and the other is a combo guard with scoring limitations. Would trade Lin for a guy like Eric Maynor
No one give a crap if Bev did good in a game or two. Until he get some recognition by the media, other NBA, especially elite one, won't respect him in the court. On the other hand, Lin get trap by double team all the time. You will never see a double team on Bev any time soon. To be honest, OKC probably don't see Bev worth defending. Because of lack of recognition, he is allow to do what he did.
Keep them both. This may open the door for more experimenting with JLin and Harden being on the floor at different times.
Wasn't the knock against Lin that he only had a 25-game sample? Beverley had what, 5-or-so decent games in the regular season and one good playoff and everybody thinks he should replace Lin, who just finished a solid first season? Beverley hustles because he plays limited minutes as a sub. Start him for a whole season and then get back to me.
If this conversation involved anyone other than Lin no one would have any issue with the question. Stop being hypersensitive.
http://bkref.com/tiny/Ohkle Only 16 players, including Lin, when they were age 24 or younger, have had multiple seasons of 13.3pts/gm, 6assts, on 53.7% TS percentage. All of them have ended up either being Hall of Famers, Future Hall of Famers, or have had multiple All-Star selections...You really wanna get rid of a guy with this kind of potential?
